Yeah Yeah Yeahs made this song sound like something that would be sung before a relationship started or just at the beginning of a relationship. Arcade Fire made it sound like a song played after the relationship has ended. I like that.

the arcade fire contend for the title of my favourite band ever but this really just isn't comparable to the original. this is quite good even if i don't like regine's voice very much. but maps is all honesty arguably the best song of the decade, and nobody else could recreate KOs heartbreak, or nick's perfect guitar part. i still don't think this should be hated on though

I have zero qualms with this cover. It's unique and honestly, I'm not huge on the majority of Arcade Fires work, but I like what they did here. The drums really carry it and the dudes voice blends really well with the chicks voice. I really dig the harmonica too (or whatever it may be).

People keep saying it's bad because it doesn't sound like the original. That's the whole point of a cover. You make our own version of the song. You can change it up a bit, give it a different meaning. Who wants to hear a band cover a song, and sound EXACTLY the same as the original artists????

Como les encanta opinar estupideces, este no es un cover grabado en estudio, es uno de tantos covers que Arcade Fire incluía en sus conciertos, es en vivo y es un simple detalle. Régine no tiene una gran voz, pero transmite demasiado y compensa sus carencias vocales con su interpretación. No estas pagando por esto, no te lo están vendiendo, no critiques tan estúpidamente.

Well about the unique thing, I was talking to the people who said it sounds nothing like the original. Which It doesn't. Which Is a good thing. If you read the description it says that this was taken from one of their live performances in 2005, which means they had to have come up with their own version and practice it before doing it on stage. This one just didn't do it for me. And I'm not one of those butthurt yeah yeah yeahs fans that hates it before listening to it.

Why are you even fussing about this? It was probably just a thing they decided to do. Who knows, maybe even decided to cover that very day. That's not enough time to get a totally unique version out there. This is just some random recording of the thousands of songs and places they've played over the years.

I can understand that people like the YYY's version better. I too like it better. But honestly, this is a pretty good cover. Despite the fact that neither Win or Regine are as good as vocalists as Karen O, they do a pretty good job here. They stay in tune for the most part, and the choices the musicians made to distance itself are pretty solid.

This wasn't Horrible, but it isn't one of Arcade Fire's best. Also from what I can see, this was probably done spur of the moment and also it's live so the quality isn't the very best. I feel like if this was done in the studio this would be lovely to hear.

I really wanted to like this but this song doesn't match arcade fire's groove. It's not the worst cover ever but it doesn't have that child-like wildness and whimsy, that innocent heartache that all AF's other songs have. It doesn't sound like the put much into it. Oh well.
