I'm a late AF fan, I started listening just around the time EN came. I fell in love with the sound that came from Reflektor and Everything Now that many early fans detest. The neo disco dance vibe is just so uplifting and unique and I love it just as much as I love their earlier work. Anything that this man and his band creates is solid gold and that's all I need to say about that,
@EddieFreak4 жыл бұрын
Yup I’m with you. I came in during Reflektor and I think it’s their best album, with The Suburbs right behind.

My son was 2 months old when 'Funeral' was released, My daughter was born exactly 13 months after 'Funeral' was released and they described Saturday evening on Best Kept Secret - because of the great Arcade Firde set which we watched from row 1 - as the best evening/night of their life and I can't blame them, it was magical and we enjoyed every second.

I was almost two years old when Funeral came out and when my dad bought the album. It makes me proud that the band I’ve been listening to since I could barely walk has come so far.

I agree, true art and music doesn't require an audience, because the audience turns into critics, or worse still, fans.

Not sure I see a problem with monetising KZbin....that's how I discovered your two latest singles....great stuff

Dankii,- hmmm. Again, not so sure I see a problem with this. I personally have nothing to hide. This "direct marketing" is responsible for me finding some really intriguing things to spend money on. Is there an issue with corporations making more money. These same corporations employ people. People with families. That's my version of Bernie Sander's "Democratic Socialism" it's called capitalism. Look it up.

Dankii hahah, I see no human rights taken away. I had the right to create, or not create the gmail account. Take a breather. There will always be private ways to communicate. Just don't do it on-line if you want it to be completely private. Fyi, I don't mean to me a jerk to you, and my debate is meant to be in spirit of friendship:) I'm only asking you to consider it from a different angle. I love Arcade Fire. But don't forget, they too rely on marketing to sell their music. They deserve to get paid for their efforts. I would argue that corporations deserve the same.

Dankii - oh, and I have plenty of controversial things to say, and I have no problem saying them publicly.

Dankii - Clearly my wisdom is wasted on you. For the moment anyway. One day you might just get it. But not today.

....and I'm arguing with a child. Socialism works great, until you run out of somebody else's money. Ps- Bernie has now decided to purchase two additional homes, and was seen driving a 100k super car. Look it up. Good night little one

He looks so different from how I remember him when I saw AF live when they started out. Before the show me and a friend were having a drink in a bar that was attached to the venue and the band was having dinner in there.

Wtf? Who asks an artist if they don't think their song is corny in an interview???
@michaelmota46024 жыл бұрын
I like that advice at the end, this is probably really different, but man it kind of reminds of the writers from The Last of Us 2, they just made a story for themselves that was far different from the first and it felt like a big fuck you to the fans. As long as you got a good team around you that supports you and also lets you know when you're wrong then that's good advice to give.

Everything now (the song) is a good fucking song. I relate so much to the ending ('Every inch of space in my heart is filled with something I'll never start: the ashes of everything now. I'm in the black again, can't make it back again...from everything now'). It makes me want to cry. Hell, the whole album is so good if you understand the message. Fuck everyone else that is shitting on arcade fire today.

Charlie White i know a few people like this, it's not that he can't articulate his thoughts, it's just that he's choosing from a couple parallel ideas before committing them to speech, almost like a form of overthinking

I've never really gotten this pretentious thing. Everything he said obviously won't go down well with everybody but it is all true. He just says... what's true. And people always get irritated by that lol.

Yeah and I wasn't saying you didn't I was also saying that he was right. I was talking about the pretentious thing which I actually do disagree with. Bit patronising to call random strangers kids as well.

sorry bro, if I offended you in some way but you were the one 'analysing' my comment.. these days we should be allies not enemies btw...... but whatever
@bisaillion7 жыл бұрын
I hear what you're saying, but I wouldn't call it pretention as much as protection actually. If you look for validation in your critics you'll find you'll never get it, and worse utterly shatter your own identity in the process. Creating for your own expression is art. Creating for others expectation is homework.
