I was talking with a friend of mine about music from the first decade of the 2000's. Even though some of these artists had been around since the 90's, like Belle & Sebastian, Moby, Dido, and Coldplay, the decade produced some great work by them and many others, like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Strokes, Muse, Gorillaz, and Aracade Fire. Thinking about that decade is like remembering a foreign country that no longer exists except in our dreams.

Coldplay's first album was 2000, Dido's was 1999. Neither had "been around since the 90's" but yes the 2000s had great music.
