Not necessarily, when and where someone is born will have a lot more of an influence on what type of things they are exposed to. For instance, myself being born under communism and growing up under not-communism meant that my '90s were quite different from those of the West. I talk about this in a bit more detail here if you're interested in a more diverse perspective on gaming culture and history kzbin.info/www/bejne/apvCaod_pLpprKc Thanks for watching! 😃

I already knew about half of these games. I don't think they're as rare/unknown as you think. But I still enjoyed your video. Good descriptions, engaging commentary, and you split it into chapters with titles! Now that's the icing on the cake. Good job.

hey, I played all of those! most of them in neogeo arcades in MX don't forget Sega's dynamite duke, Taito's violence fight, Alpha Denshi's Gang Wars and time soldiers and Capcom's forgotten worlds! those games have been criminally forgotten! .

Solid picks. I played some of these on arcade cabinets back in the day, and have tried the rest using MAME. I love the charm and over-the-top goofiness of old arcade games like these. Even if I do suck at playing them.
@StefaNonsense
@StefaNonsense 18 күн бұрын
I imagine sucking at them was part of the design to eat our coins! There's way to many direct damage dealing things that happen inconsistently 😄 Sure, not saying one can't get good at these things, especially the fighting games, but with the beat 'em-ups, those are coin chomp-chomp-chompers by design! Thanks for watching!

@@StefaNonsense Absolutely! The CPU in a lot of old fighting games used input reading and other cheap tactics. Art of Fighting 2 was probably the worst for this.

Still, the amount of insane optimization and technical wizardry these devs did with incredibly limited hardware, by today's standards, fascinates me to no end!
