The budget for this game must have been pretty low, for one thing the audio clips are not only very poorly done, but the voices are taken right from films. The one that says "Hey!" is taken from Lethal Weapon 3 when there in the garage before the fight starts, one of the screams is taken from that fight scene and another one is Sully from Commando when John drops him. The explosion at 6:00 looks like a scene from a movie and the look for Hornet is Terminator 2 and Queen Bee is Pris from Blade Runner. Yeah, the first two Operation Wolf games were so much better than this.

They also made the game Silent Dragon for Taito. It's still not great, but it's a considerable improvement from Double Dragon 3 (no stupid microtransactions, for one thing).

on the plus side, I have heard that this game samples various screams from both Lethal Weapon 3 (which were ripped from the garage scene where Lorna helps Riggs fight some of the thugs who work for Jack Travis) and Commando (particularly, the one Sully has after he's "let go" by Arnold)

There was this period where all new games had to have real life actors running around! Looks even shitter now yet for some reason I thought the graphics were the boss back when I first saw this. I like how the boss gets a real movie explosion blended in.

Yeah, right at the beginning of the FMV-craze that of course had its heaviest impact on PC gaming (remember when CD-ROM was THE SHIT?) What's even funnier about it is the fact, that one of the enemy screams was actually prominently used in the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic "Commando" (the strange ululating scream heard throughout this game is the exact same scream we hear when the character Sully falls down the cliff in "Commando" - "Remembah, Sully, when ah promised to kill ya laast? - AH LIIIED!") - that's some serious nostalgia overdose right there!

As a matter of fact, yes it does. When I played this at a miniature golf course in Wisconsin, I noticed the graphics had a similar vibe of LE. Eh, I'd stick to LE over this though.

It was way north in Wisconsin. The exact location was "Settlers Mill Adventure Golf" in Minocqua, WI; miniature golf course and small arcade with a snack bar. Not sure if it's still there, but I played the machine in June 2012, and I think in 2013.

+Yell Heah! Conversus Vans (Paul) okay, but one sound effect i find a bit agitating and annoying in LE1 is the one heard when you run out of lives and the continue timer is counting down. The one heard here in this game, Operation Wolf 3, is much more pleasing to hear. Do you agree with my opinion here?

@azeeislight yeah i'd say this is a bad rip off of that game. Just like with Lethal Enforcers 1, there are 5 stages and you get to shoot targets as a bonus stage after stages 1 and 3. But this game is too short, and has unenjoyable music, unlike Lethal Enforcers awesome tunes. Lethal Enforcers is harder and longer than Operation Wolf 3. But in order to experience the awesome music of LE1, play the arcade machine, not the MAME version as the percussion is very bland, that goes for X-Men too.

Long before I would even know what Engrish was, Operation Wolf 3 was pretty much my first experience towards it. In my humble opinion, the butchering of the English language in this game is so bad that it partly ruined the gameplay experience for me. I couldn't believe that Taito's American subsidiary shipped this game out without even being bothered to fix its effed-up use of the English language. Then again, countless Taito games are chock full of Engrish, so go figure.

During 80 and the first half of the 90 decade, most of Japanese video game companies didn´t give a shit about a nice translation; they put in charge of the translation some guy or one of the programmers with light notions of English language and voila, you got a "decent" English translation! Don´t you believe me? Just two words: Zero Wing.
