Addictive b/c we were challenging one another...and as you keep losing you put in more coins to try to win. $1 per game...by the end of the challenge you probably have spent around $10. When you keep doing this almost every day of the week..well, it all adds up... But to be honest it was worth it. You only live once and these arcade games are all history now. @ALongLeggedPissedOffPuertoRican Back in the day no one rated it. Probably cause back then the cast was too different, too new and the games where tok hard to Alpha and 2 player back then. It wasn't until later shortly before SF4 that 3rd strike and sf3 as a whole started to pick up in popularity but after SF4 it was too late and that became more mainstream than 3. But 3 ended up becoming more popular as a competitive game anyway and it's now still considered one of the best like you said. That's what I'm always told ;-;

@orlanzo26214 жыл бұрын
Because most people are bandwagon jumpers, that’s why. Back when SF3 first came out it was overlooked because people were more into 3-D fighters are the time and people also didn’t like the fact that almost all of the old familiar characters were completely replaced. Parrying was also said to be “too hard” so with all of that people sort of stayed away from SF3, including Third Strike. But once that Evo moment between Justin Wong and Daigo happened in 3S everyone jumped on the 3S bandwagon, many of which not even knowing two previous versions of SF3 even existed. Honestly I’ve been playing the series since ‘97 with New Gen and to me it and Second Impact have better music, stages, presentation, etc than 3S. Overall 2nd Impact is my favorite in the series and I feel that 3S is good but is a little overrated.

Gill was an unfair fighter to me, when i almost won the game, his health regenerate's somehow. Anybody know why?
@orlanzo26215 жыл бұрын
Nick A007 Because you let him get a full super meter, lol. In New Generation If you let Gill get full meter he WILL resurrect after you K.O. him. There’s no way around it. It’s his only super move in this version. At least in Second Impact and Third Strike you can sort of “trick” him into using his meter on his other super moves so he can’t resurrect. So as far as him gaining life back in this version attack him IMMEDIATELY when he gets up and starts recovering life and it will stop him from gaining too much back. If you’re really good (or lucky) you can beat him without ever m letting him even get full super meter in the first place.

It's a shame we didn't get this and 2nd Impact on PS2. Of course it would look bad from a marketing perspective but it sucks we have to resort to emulation for these works of art. I didn't really realize how beautiful the stages were until watching this upload. I wish Capcom would bring back some of their sub characters from the backgrounds. It's a shame they don't 'team' them up anymore like Ibuki's group. Glad Skullgirls is doing that though and building their universe with more characters.
