I always liked the G.I. Joe personalities, but lets face it, Cobra is way cooler than any of those squares. One of the best things about G.I. Joe the arcade game is that it features practically every Cobra vehicle and character that was produced from that particular era of G.I. Joe. It’s awesome to see so many different Cobra bastards as you rampage through their bases.

A total classic. Masterful audio mixing and selection. Done with the original cartoon sound effects, commando backflippin' bad guys, machine guns and explosives all made almost entirely with the colors of the American flag.

I’ve played this game nearly 30 years ago back at the former Kitchen 79’ diner back in Philadelphia Pa. as a 19 year old because this was one of G.I. Joe’s first arcade games I’d ever played & it’s the best .

My oldest son used to watch both G.I. Joe series on WDKY-TV in Lexington, WDRB-TV in Louisville and WGN America (back when WGN was a superstation) when he was a little kid. Nowadays, DVDs are from Shout! Factory, and I hope we have enough money to buy the remaining seasons from the first series and the entire second series, plus the Lady Jaye and Scarlett toys!

I only had the opportunity to play this a few times at my arcade before they got rid of it. Man this was awesome. Pure, unadulterated destruction and kickass sound effects and music. And yeah, Snake Eyes doesn't talk...lol

I loved how GI Joe hated on Cobra because they had more money and investments. The had their own rock band (Cold Slither) they had a telethon (Cobrathon) the Crimson Twins had their own business (Extensive Enterprises). Multiple bases. And what do they have? A base with a cannon that they’ve never used.

Joe series, later formed MGM Animation, which later became Sabella/Dern (SD) Entertainment (now a subsidiary of Cinedigm), with former Hanna-Barbera executive Paul Sabella, and later founded the Sinclair/MGM-owned KidsClick. 2. Lee Gunther, the executive in charge of production for the Marvel/Sunbow G.I. Joe series, who started his career at Warner Bros. and DePatie-Freleng as an editor, later promoted to production executive, would branch out on the final phase of his life, creating Gunther/Wahl Productions with Michael Wahl and 🏃‍♀️ the studio until his 💀 in 1998. 3. Johnny Douglas, the British-born composer, composed a lot of stuff for Marvel Productions and would return to his native 🇬🇧 and would remain there until his 💀 in 2003.

The G.I. Joe arcade game is based on the 1990-1992 DIC/Claster G.I. Joe series and stars 4 characters on the show: Duke, Snake Eyes, Scarlett, and Roadblock.

This is when G. I. Joe was AMAZING! Great characters, stories, and soldiers going out and protecting their country from TERRORISTS! Not fake Russian crap (Call of Duty, Battlefield or any modern game). AND this game is MORE INTENSE than most shooters today! I played the heck outta this back in the day! I STILL LOVE IT!

This is the american version that was massively upgraded from the original Japanese game. The newer hardware's sprite scaling was an amazing jump from the originals!

NintendoComplete+ What do you mean, by 'american version'? Devastators was released both in the U.S. and in Japan (as Ga Ru Ka). I'm pretty sure G.I. Joe had a version with japanese text (or at least japanese captions, like their local version of the X-Men game.
