This is a sequel to a 1986 arcade game Salamander A.K.A. Life Force. I manage to do 2 loops to finish the game which you really don't need to but whatever. -

This Salamander 2 game, should have come out on Playstation 2. Since its catalog has Gradius 3, Gradius 4 and Gradius 5. Greetings!!

It did come out on Salamander Portable PSP, Saturn and PS1, sadly all relegated to Japan only, but I snagged all of them years ago.

I could never quite understand how we could get Life Force, granted it was a weaker port of Salamander 1, in the U.S. for the NES but, we couldn't get Salamander 2 in any form in the U.S. (without needing an emulator). I would have played the hell out of this.

Once you reach the second loop, you can no longer use continues... but unlike most other examples of the "Point of NO Continues" trope, second players can still join in here should things go downhill for you!

Even if they were gonna be released for either, this game wouldn't be possible on nes and the snes port would probably arrive way to late in the console's life span, by 97 the playstation saturn and n64 are already out for a couple of years

Insanely hard, even harder than 1, cannot get past stage 1 without dying, while in 1 I can get as far as stage 5, thankfully it has unlimited credits

I would like an explanation please. Already is it playing on what medium? Because if it’s on an arcade, how does the free game system work? And finally why does he play a complete game again when he finished the game a first time? Thank you in advance for the answers

The game requires 2 loops to finish, you'll notice the second loop by the music changes in some stages in. The game also takes away continues in loop 2, while loop 1 you get unlimited continues.
