Yes the VRC4 chip. Custom to Konami and part of the reason it never made it to the US.

It's neither one, it's Gradius II: Gofer no Yabou, or Gofer's Ambition. Gofer is the Bacterion brain seen at the end. In the arcade version he claims he is the strongest, yet goes down easily, then claims he is just a small part of the empire Bacterion.

Simple, it ain't an NES game because we never got it in the West (sadly). Nintendo thought it'd cost too much to import the VRC4 mapper chip designed by Konami (which is why Gradius II looks as beautiful as it does), so we missed out on a dope ass game outside of Japan
