It’s not that impossible they would just need the licensing for that specific game that is in the arcade that’s all, it’s doable but yeah no one is ever going to make that game a reality unfortunately, would be awesome though

Although not as complete as you wish, some Sega games, like Yakuza, Judgment and Shenmue have an arcade with some classics in it.

Closest thing to that is the new Pac-Man collection can actually put the arcades around and walk up to them

Recently beat this game (finished the campaign and filled the arcade) and I agree I wish there was more of an endgame. There really is nothing to do but play the games you've collected, except for fix the odd broken game or collect trash now and then, but your income becomes meaningless and you can only hope to fill each spot of your arcade with paid DLC which even then does not do the job. My dream for this game is that there were so many cabinets to choose from that you actually had to cherry pick the right ones for you and fully customize the arcade itself. They could have worked on wallpaper, neon lights/ signs and office layouts for paid DLC and keep pumping out the cabinets and mini games to sustain the gameplay loop well after the end credits. Imagine a multiplayer mode where you can visit other players arcades and try to beat their high scores and stuff. Hopefully someday in Arcade Paradise 2, but I loved my time with the game it was a lot of fun to grind for 3-4 days.

I really like the game. Serves a funny little story with plenty of decent arcade games and some management. Played best over a longer period, not great for rushing through while reviewing it. Well worth the 20 $.

Game took me straight back to my early twenties. Music and game eras are slightly mixed, but I think it's aimed squarely at late gen xers like me. 80s synth stuff next to grunge on the juke box, 8 bit games next to mega drive era next to early 2000s hit clones. Great fun

Closest Mall to where I live is about an hour away. Living in a southern small town, we don't get a lot of lasting businesses. We did have a laundromat that had a few arcade cabinets. Best was when they got the Street Fighter Vs X-Men. Me and a friend spent countless hours there as kids.

tldr: "...if it tried to present an authentic representation of the arcade experience, it would have added more value". This is what I was hoping it would be like. The laundromat is a nice twist, but ultimately fails. There are plenty of authentic management tasks that could have been added. I've had day dreams of owning an arcade myself - I really wanted this to be good.

Is there an ending to the game? I'd imagine thar after beating it, you can continue playing. But is there a point where you've "beaten" the game? Or does it just drag on with no clear goal?

Sorry to reply to this a year later. I just played through the game myself and was checking reviews after. There is an endgame. There's an ongoing story where you're expanding the arcade, making it less of a laundromat behind your father's back. Eventually, you can turn into a full arcade. You can still play the game after that, but at that point, it's just getting all the achievements or goals with each arcade game.

A lot of them kind of use to. It wasn’t uncommon in my area to see 3-4 cabinets, pinball and a claw machine.

The Video Air Hockey alone is dangerously addictive I love the addition of Kung Fury; which is a must see movie in its own right

Its too bad that the achievements are glitchy. I have only one left and it will not unlock. Fun game but it is annoying to be missing one achievement knowing that I earned it

This game is dope lol. Someone gifted it to me on steam. It sat in my library for a couple weeks while i was modding Skyrim VR. Speaking of VR, i'm glad this is getting a VR version. It deserves it. Would be great to have mod support to put in real arcade games.

Would liked it to have been like rollercoaster tycoon with loads of people walking around playing the game with thoughts and money, but with licensed arcade games/pinball and an option to play them. Maybe even stages of different arcade locations.

I was really hoping this game would have more simulation elements as far as running the laundromat/arcade. Not to say what's here isn't fun, but I guess I was hoping it would be closer to Internet Cafe Simulator than what we wound up getting. Still fun to check out.

Not if you live 1 mile from Galloping Ghost. You can have that old arcade feeling anytime. I’ve lived in the area for years. They have way too many games in a relatively small building. I’ve been dreading a fire since they first really got their business going. It was cool at first because the room where they fixed the games was right there in the middle and you sometimes could see them working on fixing a game.
