I used to have this cab, sold it, regret selling it now. Was going to install a Q sound amp in it and do some work to it but never got around to it and let it go but restored the CP which was converted to a golden tee, so at least I brought it back to its former glory before I sold it as a X-Men vs SF with marquee and all. This model has the best marquee setup, I have a number of marquees, it was a beautiful cab, I used the diamond plate CP art and traditional PK decals, also cut a plexi top for it. Best marquee is the alpha 2 marquee that's the one I used the most. I miss the damn thing, most comfortable control panel for fighting games for sure. Try the angle the dynamos have, it's horrible, this cab is super comfortable. Great find, congrats.

I'm really curious as to where this cabinet operated during the 2000s. It definitely had real play from the FGC considering there are P360 joysticks and convex buttons. Mvc2 scene required those parts in the tourney scene.

wow! yeah I always remembered arcade Captain Commando having those weird split circular buttons, guess it's only fitting it got converted to marvel 2, that was his last appearance in that series! didn't play a ton of mvc2 back in the day but in more recent years thanks to emulation, I was able to dive a little bit more into it. I had heard of some fans starting up a #freemvc2 campaign to get a re-release, and digital eclipse is apparently listening so, looks like discussions *have* started! so for those that can't afford a real cab you might still have an option for at home MVC2! super cool videos as always man.

So excited to see you get one of your wish list cabinets so quickly and that beauty is quite the eye candy. There used to be a Capcom nickel city arcade right down the street from where I live and it was filled to the brim with these cabs so i definitely feel the nostalgia when I get to see a big blue anywhere. If ever got one myself I would probably go the Darksoft multi route but if it specifically came with a marvel vs Capcom 2 I would have such a hard time deciding cause that's such an iconic game and one of my favorite arcade games of all time. I would keep it in there until I got a showcase dynamo cab to stick it in but who hell has the room for one of those monsters lol

I got the same exact machine back in September. Mine had Capcom vs SNK 2 in it. Also has the 4 coin slot. Was painted black, but I've been stripping the black paint off and the blue underneath is overall intact thankfully!

I restored that exact cab with the 4 door coin slot a few months ago. That is vinyl so I wouldn’t paint it and replace with new vinyl. I have a full set of vinyl for that cab if you are interested.

It could have been a dungeons and dragons either mystara or doom and not necessarily a captain commando. I would see if you could wrap rather than paint it. CPS2 gsmes were typical for the big blues from that period. I have a naomi as well I love mine with mvc2. MvC 2 supports medium resolution which I just found out I will probably put one in my cab. The one downside to my big blue is that i didn't have the right control panel and sadly i have no plans. You have the right one which is lucky.

When I got mine it had Tekken 2 in it and a shorted green tube. I bought a rejuvenator, fixed tube and got SFII Championship marquee, cpo and bezel. looks great but no original pcb hardware for now, is pandora but gets TONS OF PLAY. I will be watching your restoration videos as mine has crunched corner at top and some other blems (color codes). Great score. What I bought was about 4 years ago for 600.00 sold tekken pcb for I think $75 nothing against armor king I needed that rejuvenator :D

I only buy arcade machines that failed on consoles marvel vs capcom 2 new age of heroes didn’t fail it came on xbox PS2 Dreamcast the original arcade machines do break they work for 2 years if your lucky then they must have to break I own the Ms Pac-Man galaga arcade machine that was released in 2000 bought it in new sealed like as a console would be in it still hasn’t broken that was when the PS2 was out there was no Ms Pac-Man arcade version on consoles I was tired of waiting so I bought it for that reason we’re in 2022 it’s not broke once but the others do that we’re in 1980
