It's has a PS/2 connector. Used for keyboards and mice on older desktop computers.

Nice that the trackball is USB. There is additional wiring that was not discussed. If you use an encoder controller board for a custom joystick controller, what connections if any to connect to a PCB? Not everyone builds arcade units. Cool as that is…

Agreed but the review is specific to the setup that I have. I didn't use any additional wiring as my build doesn't use those for connection so I'm not able to offer details on that. Just not something I personally utilized in any way.

It actually doesn't really matter what type of setup you have. Whether you have a custom arcade control panel or are just using a gamepad for the buttons you typically wouldn't have to do any extra wiring. Ineither one of these scenarios most people typically connect the trackball as a separate USB device. The retro gaming front end being used just recognizes it as a mouse device. Some of the more advanced controller PCBs out there do allow for a direct connection of the trackball but it's not at all necessary.

Unfortunately, the one I bought just lights up with green. No movement at all. Not on pi, laptop, etc. Any ideas? Using ps2 to usb connector.

Something for everyone to keep in mind is that this trackball is not going to be a good choice if you're trying to put it in an arcade control panel with a trackball cut out that's made out of MDF. This one is made to be mounted to a thin metal plate or just sit on a desktop the way he's doing in the video. Just look up the Ultimark U-track trackball and you'll see how the round part that the trackball sits in is much taller in order to accommodate the thickness of an MDF control panel.
