Price is way out of wack. Emulation issues with screen tearing. I thought I noticed the bilinear filtering still on this. It is used to mask the emulation issues(screen tearing….etc). Great review and much respect for buying this to show the reality of the situation.

As a long time Pac-Man fan, I thought $180 was insanely steep for that stick. BUT, I was willing to still buy it BECAUSE it's Pac-Man. I was disappointed because there was no speed settings for Galaga or Pac-Man, but I figured no big deal since there was a micro SD card slot allowing for me to add games. Once I saw that you couldn't, there was no way I was buying this. Thank you for the video!

Hey PDubs, great review. I'm glad you felt as though it was over priced for what it is. I was worried a little that you were going to be a big fan!! Aside from alllll the objective points you made about it, my grandmother had a few of those lap desks in the 80s and I just can't stop seeing those when I look at this!! I have to admit though, this came out of left field. I'm admittedly curious what "new" thing A1up will come up with next to play Pac Man on!!!!

Rolling Thunder is really fun. Just started getting into it. Very hard but fun, and some of the best music ever. This thing is a glorified plug 'n play with a cheap pillow slapped on it, and charging $180 for it is absolutely insulting. It should be $50 tops. I don't like when A1Up does stuff like this that feels slimy and predatory.

Yeah … I like the concept and the presentation (except for the optional side bars - agree that they should have been customized for each included game.). I think this thing will sell to people who just want a convenient way for their kids to play these classic games and aren’t interested in cabinets. The initial price is a little high, but I bet WalMart will be selling scads of these things ‘discounted” to $99 by Labor Day!

I bought the Atari one...that list of games, so easy to access with the specialty controllers was just too much to pass up. I knew I would regret it if the product disappeared and I didn't get one. I'll wait on the Pac Man one, those games are not as big a deal to me (except Galaxian and Dig Dug)

Nice video and review! It will be interesting to see how well it sells. I think it's a much better option than the crappy controller with no options. I do wish the boards changed for each game. Still a nice option for those looking to play some arcades on the TV. I'm still holding out for the toiletcade that's rumoured for 2023. I got mine for $86 from HSN. Just had to get a HSN Card from them to get $50 off my first purchase which I used to buy this Couchcade. Makes it much more worth the price. They have it on sale for $129.99 for anyone that doesn't want to get an HSN card but to me it was worth getting.

I really don't like that this thing uses disposable batteries. It's one thing for devices like flashlights to use batteries, since you want an easily swappable power source for emergencies, but there's no reason for a recreational item to ever need them. In an item like this, the need for batteries just creates waste, and that can be a problem if those batteries aren't properly disposed of.

Woah. $180. Just goes to show A1U is not shy about ripping off their customers. I’ve gotten similar things to this in the past for my mom for less than $50. Makes me question their pricing on everything. Like those damn stools being nearly $100. I’ve seen stools with the same exact design going for less than half that price which means it probably even less to manufacture them. So A1U has like at least a $70 markup. I get they have to license the graphics and share profits but that’s still crazy high. Especially since the stool is barley comfortable.

I just want a beanbag mod for my atgames legends mini, LOL! this seems cool but even at full price the gamer mini is definitely the better deal, you get a lot more just out of the box even before you get into adding additional games! I do give them credit for the cushion idea though.... that ending though, LMAO! XD

It's stuff like this is why true Hobbyist don't take A1Up seriously and that theyre just a toy company . Don't forget Micro Center released their Atari themed Pi3 couchcade version with fight stick, trackball, and spinner for $199. It's also a way better built than this A1Up version.

Wow! I can't believe you got this so fast! Finally seeing this in action, this shit seems kinda awesome! I love that it had what seems like Real T-Molding on the side, and I love that you CAN get to the Joystick and Buttons and upgrade whatever you want. Wow. 👏👏👏 Despite how you ended it and what you think, I think this is a Solid Official Product. It isn't for me but I would definitely feel comfortable getting this as a gift for someone to have a worth while gaming experience.

Fair play to you for going out and buying this so the rest of us don't have to. I really think the absence of a rechargeable battery pack is either lazy or cheap, the USB is on the back on the control deck so it must have been though of at one stage and then they decided not to. Like you say, the price is WAY too high for what it is and there are other devices already established in the market that do things much better. Not only is this a waste of money to buy, it was a waste of money for Arcade 1up to design and manufacture

My Atari unit arrived. The trackball and spinner controls are unplayably jumpy. I put in a support ticket to see if it’s a known issue. Button game asteroids is fine

Any chance you could get this device to wirelessly (or wired) connect to your older Pac-Man HDMI console? Would be curious if it could control added games to those older devices. I'm interested in the Atari Couchcade (mainly for Lunar Lander and adding Warlords since I already have two of the older HDMI consoles) but thinking I might end up getting the similar Atari controller being sold by Microcenter instead.

Seems like a good idea but, you're correct on the price. $100 - $120 should be the price point. It will drop in price once they realize that people won't buy these. Especially since you can't add games.

I just bought this one for my son and the other Atari one from QVC for $129 each. He has low vision, so I thought this would be a good fit for him (even though he doesn't seem to have trouble with regular game systems), but he also gets a kick out of the old Atari games, so I think he will like this for what it is. BTW...I still have my original Atari game console with many games! We used to plug it in every now and then, but not sure if it will work on the new TVs or if there is a way for conversion? Legends Gamer Mini with coinopsx is more worthwhile. You mentioned audio lag on this. I'm not surprised.... I was wondering if you also noticed similar Audio lag on Legends Gamer devices? I have a few Gamer pros, and they all have a slight bit of Audio delay/lag. I have tv on gamer mode and usb connected. It seems like it's something easy to correct but no one makes a big deal out of it.

I noticed a bunch of these arcade1ups, legends gamer and ultimates, have that ever SLIGHT AUDIO LAG. But it's something most of us live with, since everyone likes the overall presentation vs the perfect authentic performance. (I know most of us wish AtGames and Arcade1up would pay more attention and fix this important detail about Audio Lag, & then we wouldn't have to pull out another device-Pi4, PC, etc...).

And with the release of arcade 1up Tron Dragons lare and space ace.. definitely quite surprised me.. I would definitely own those if I could afford it.. But they can only go with NAMCO only for so long.. They need to start deep diving into other arcade manufacturers of the time.. ATARI WILLIAMS CENTURI STERN you know berserk and frenzy.. SNK NEO GEO SEGA and so on. Pac-Man and galaga can only go so far.. until the customer base get bored.. Just a theory and a hunch..

Toyed with idea of adding the older box with crap controller and this deck to see if they would work as it has the usb a connections. So my thought was to just see if the usb micro would plug into and play. I dropped a 15"dell in the thing with a pi lol Anyway, thanks for your response. Caleb Williams or keep fields? lol

Does any one know what games are in the Ms. PacMan 40th Anniversary 10-IN-1 Bandai Legacy Edition Arcade with Licensed Riser and Light-Up Marquee, Arcade1Up at Walmart? I hate the fact they do not put the game lists on the pages.
