the problem with that is no one is currently making 20" 4:3 aspect ratio monitors on a large scale, so there isn't anyone Arcade1Up could source those monitors from at the moment. CoolToy, would Sanwa 30 mm snap in buttons work with this? I don’t want to do all the work you did, I just want to switch the buttons out with better ones. Do you just switch the wires to the new buttons? I’m new to this and I’ve been trying to find info online but I can’t find it. I have no idea about encoder boards and just want it to be as easy as possible. Appreciate it.
@cooltoy4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately Sanwa 30mm buttons won't work unless you drill out the existing holes and make them wider. Almost all USB encoder boards come with a set of connecting wires, all you need to do it connect one end to the microswitch on each button and then plug the other end into the encoder board.

Is the main board in these Cocktail Cabinets the same you would find in the standard Arcade 1ups?
@cooltoy4 жыл бұрын
only the newer ones arcade1up cabinets like TMNT, Marvel Superheroes and Star Wars. The older Arcade1Up cabinets used a different PCB

Awesome video. It inspired me to get a cocktail cab as well. Anyone figured out how to get sega naomi, dreamcast, or atomiswave to display correctly in cocktail split screen mode? The video is upside down. I'm using coinops. It does the some thing in retropie.

Do you know which lcd adapter to get for either a Final Fight or Rampage machine? Havent decided which one I am going to turn into a RetroPie. They may end up having the same monitor.

Great video! Love your mods. What type of i5 would you suggest? I’ve seen some i5-2nd gen optiplex that are decently priced but I believe you linked a 4th gen.

Omg Awesome Video man!! I bought everything but the USB encoder since I'm not replacing the factory buttons do I need it? And if so do I need 1 for each side or just 1? And last question do I need to re-wire everything or just plug in the factory controlers flat cable?? Thank you so much in advance!

This is so amazing. Exactly what I want to do. I have a Ms Pacman that I just got from best buy...will all the parts you list be what I need?
@cooltoy4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what the model number on the Ms Pac-man cocktail cabinet monitor is, but if it the same as what I have in this video then everything should work for you. If it isn't you would need to find a different LCD controller board than what I used.

@@cooltoy thanks, I grabbed a pic of the model number. How can I tell if it is the same as yours? Or to check the part number on Amazon?

Do you need to upgrade the joysticks and buttons(I understand they can be upgraded for better) or will they work with the USB encoder as is? Thanks
@cooltoy4 жыл бұрын
No you don’t HAVE to replace the joysticks or buttons, most usb encoders will work just fine with the stock buttons and joysticks

Awesome Video! Im sure you have been asked this before...Is there a a glass top for these arcade 1up cocktails? I just purchased this and Im hesitant that the acrylic that it comes with will stand up well over time, it looks like it will scratch easy, Do you know if they make actual glass cocktail tops for these arcade 1ups?

Was inspired by your video and modified my head to head table. I did ran into a problem with the speaker volume (very low) using the usb adapter with original speaker just like yours. I you had the same problem? If so, how did you fix it?
@cooltoy4 жыл бұрын
I didn't have that issue myself, but if you want there are some super cheap Kitner amps available on Amazon that you could use to boost your volume levels. Most people use these for their Raspberry Pi Arcade1Up mods.
@IClavdivs4 жыл бұрын
@@cooltoy I bought one of those kitner amps for my build, but I couldn't use it. It doesn't work with the TSR speaker plug on this cocktail. I still haven't found a good solution.

I too am having the same difficulty. I mean we are using the same parts. Did you use specific drivers or did you just plug it in?

@@rixon2000 I think an external sound card is the best way to handle this. It was working when I had a Pi in my cocktail cabinet.
