It never fails to amaze me how quickly you come up with melodies. Could you please do a tutorial on that?

You need to learn about scales and chord progressions. Once you have chord progression you picking up single notes from chords and put them on the pianoroll along with interesting rythm. Rythm in melodies is even more important than amount of notes. Its pretty easy just need to know the scale.
