Actually, that is a great idea after all. Saving the most gimmicky charts in BYD for hardcore players, while using FTR as a bridge for newbies, plus the fact that you don't have to grind for something that is considered """"""undercharted"""""", it's a clever update ngl. Though I am confused as to why is ETR as a beginner update if this is the direction they're going for.

⁠​⁠@@MangInutil It's probably cus of what you just said, it allows newer players to enjoy future difficulties while more experienced players can play the eternal ones. Though it also might be able to help players with moving up in difficulty by using familiar songs they already know some rhythms to first. That definitely doesn't apply to a damn 10.9, but it does apply to 8s/8+s/9s

0:46 i dont know if this is intentional, but from here all the way to 1:03, the seemingly evil jacks are non-existence, just treat it as if you're just playing soundwitch (or technically speaking, it's the infamous alternating pattern) and all of a sudden it becomes a 10

ETR are for making charts with FTR patterns without relying on gimmicks, like on BYD charting Every ETRs have been harder than their FTR counterpart so far, but it's plausible we'll get an easier ETR in the future on a preexisting song

Eternal is basically ftr. They made it just so they can make medium charts for less skilled players on the high difficulty songs. That's why it's listed with ftr and not an extra difficulty like byd.

This feels severely undercharted imo, especially since it's supposed to be a 10.9. It also lacks any 4 holds/taps, taking in consideration both the original chart and the fact that Fracture Ray, which usually gets compared with Distorted Fate, has a 4 hold in the chart. The fact that Phigros exists in Arcaea is indeed a miracle, but if it does, I kind of expect it to exceed some expectations, especially with all the hype that it would create... Everyone can have different opinions tho.

This song DEFINITELY needs a beyond 11(which right now is only fanmade and not official). The eternal difficulty won't be enough to complete this mapset as toaster was holding back on this chart. The beyond should have much more sky/floor tap notes with tons of trills and jacks and a rotating 4 hold arcs at the end, which somewhat resembles AT 16 chart in Phigros

I'm honestly disappointed with this chart - no even triple notes, no references to phigros chart, not very hard either for a 10+ when compared to Lamia, Temptation, Teravolt, Misdeed or Primitive Lights. I should've bought Phigros pack in Paradigm;Reboot instead, it also has Distorted Fate

First of all, I think it's very wrong to say there's no references to the Phigros chart, I think you can notice easily the references, and if you don't, you probably haven't even played DF in phigros. Second, because there aren't triple notes or more it doesn't mean the chart is bad, I agree that the chart needed some 4 holds but because it doesn't have them, it doesn't make the chart instantly bad, I actually enjoy playing the chart. Third, I also agree that it isn't that hard to be a 10.9, but still because it isn't as hard as you want (I guess you wanted a 11) it doesn't mean the chart is bad I think the main issue here is that people overhypes things making promises that nobody has said, we could've gotten a 10 for DF and instead we got a 10+, and that is enough for me imo

I guess the reason people are overhyped on this is because many people thought that DF in Phigros felt like an 11 (like SAIKYO STRONGER) in Arcaea's standards due to the use of multi-finger gimmicks. But because that this is an ETR chart, where relying on gimmicks is avoided so it can be used for BYD, it wound up feeling "empty" to some. Also, when lowiro did use 2 boss songs and made 10+ charts feel like an 11 with gimmicks, almost half of the people were upset that it's overcharted. Like c'mon, what do we want at this point..?
