Thank you for your review ! I looking for a player that sound "warm" to upgrade my old Marantz NA8005 network player (that sound warm and I like this type of sound). Do you suggest the this Arcam CDS-50 / ST60 ? Or is better Technics sl-g700 (that however is more expensive)

Both the Arcam CDS-50 and Atoll CDD-50 / CD-80 would be a better option than the Technics

​@@TLPCHC Thank you ! I remember 15/20 years ago I had an Arcam player that I have changed with a Marantz Pear Lite becouse the Arcam was sound too open with a lack of bass. But I'am happy if the new Arcam Players sound more warm with a depp bass like my actual Marantz NA8005. Thank you again !

I'm old and haven't bought a new piece of stereo equipment in over 20 years. So I am a bit behind the times. One of my favorite albums was released on SACD, which led me to consider purchasing the necessary equipment needed to play this and perhaps other CDs with advanced sound quality. So I am trying to navigate what is the cheapest route to get to that goal since I am retired with limited income. If I purchase the Arcam CDS50, what other pieces of equipment are needed to get the sound advantage of having an SACD? I have a great Denon receiver and great JBL speakers. Would I notice better sound by simply hooking up this player to my existing system?

Hi D Tunes. A good moden CD / SACD Player will make all your CD's sound better then a 20 year old player. The Arcam CD-S50 and Yamaha CD-S1000 are two solid players that sound superb and don't cost the earth.

@@TLPCHC - Thanks so much! Many years ago I had a professional CD player that even had pitch control where you could adjust the speed of playback. The sound quality was phenomenal. It was a multi-thousand dollar unit & I got it used for about $500. After a few years of using it, one day I smelled an electric fire in it and it was done. I miss it terribly after knowing what my CDs could sound like. Perhaps these later units you mention will allow me to experience that sound again. Thanks again for your help!

It is easier if you take the disk out. And use Arcam's DLNA App.

Will the SACD player work through the unbalanced analog inputs?

I think you mean output? And yes, the player outputs SACD via the triditional RCA (unbalanced) outputs. SACD Players can not output SACD content via the digital outputs.

It supports DSD. It plays SACD, and DSD is the recording (through to production) methord used for SACD.
