So it's no stretch she went on the missions willing and asked for a chance. She kills the firelight to protect cargo. She chooses to steal gemstone on her own. Powder has separation anxiety and anxious attachment disorder, that's why she's always clinging to Vi and when Vi said "your not ready" It cut her deep because it confirmed all her fears and doubts of herself not being good enough to go with their crew or be apart of her family; she thought she was so unworthy that her sister had to leave her behind. She broke down and started destroying her own creations, which is a characteristic of disorganized attachment disorder who often destroy their own things. She launched herself at Silco because any affection she could get was good enough, she just couldn't be alone

A lot of it also has to do with a combination of Powder being very sheltered (presumably also by her parents, at first) by Vi and Vander, and her idolization of Vi. . She's so sheltered, that she lacks the understanding needed to get why one should or shouldn't do anything. She thinks Vi is just naturally perfect, naturally good at everything. She doesn't comprehend what Vi has had to endure to get to that point, doesn't understand how hard Vi works to do things the right way. So, Powder just follows her impulses, expecting things to work out just like they do for Vi. And of course, it never does...but she still doesn't get it.

@Remmy yea, it started when their parents died and now. . . She lost Vi Also, i don't know why so many reactors, including myself at a certain point was comparing Jinx to Harlequin. I mean yes the game version seems like a copy and paste but the arcade version really fleshed out her character. Whilst, Harley Quinn is edgy craz,y Jinx is humanized crazy. Harley Quinn always had a dark side even before she was exposed to the chemicals , I don't understand why Warner Brothers didn't give her a separate movie that included the Joker, so that we can actually see her mind becoming fractured or is already fractured before the incident with the chemicals. Not only that, but she seems dumb and that dismisses the fact that she has a PhD, like Milo, Harleen Quinzel is a voice and a hallucination in Harley's head, and sometimes she taps into that version of herself. Even tho this movie shouldn't been made in the first place because they FUCKED up Cassandra Cane and didn't write Huntress well plus they made fun of her family dieing making jokes like "She's got rage issues" no SHIT ma'am my family was murdered infront of my eyes, its not rage issues its grief/revenge. But i like the end scene where Harley gives huntress advice about revenge not being the best way to deal with grief as we hope for and then she just *snaps* back into Harley Quinn. I've also notice sometimes Jinx has this over the top pretence of crazy, like her scene with chuck. But we also see her comedic side "jeez, I'm not THAT crazy" 😆

Was cured when she was with Silco because he allowed her to go out and he trusted her with his operations. He embraced her insecurities and instead of seeing or calling her "jinx" as an insult, he saw her as perfect, he gave her the thing she needed : care, to be heard, to be trusted, to have someone believe in her and not leave her, he only raised his voice at her like once. Its just that he didn't create boundaries and that made her not know what to do and what not to do. Plus he also have the separation anxiety, he didn't tell Jinx Vi was back because he could loose his "tool" but because he couldn't loose his daughter. Tbvh, he did the best he could for the man he was.

This is the episode that broke a lot of hearts. One of the many tragic things about this episode is that I can't blame Powder or Vi for how they acted. Powder genuinely wanted to help, to prove that she wasn't useless, and it all went terribly, horribly wrong. Vi had a moment of very understandable anger and lashed out at her sister, physically, verbally, and emotionally. They're both so young, too young to be dealing with this sort of thing. But life is hard and uncaring, and one bad things leads to another, to another, to another...

In game, there is a character which is some sort of fear demon disguised as a scarecrow called Fiddlesticks, which when he meets some other characters have specific oneliners, he actually repeats phrases that have traumatized said characters in their past. In the case of Jinx, Fiddlesticks says : "Jinx! All your fault! All your fault!" It all makes sense now.

Powder by this episode already has attachment issues and heavily relies on Vi's support, love, and attention to validate herself. Simultaneously, she wants to be useful to those she cares about and constantly fails to bring anything to the table. This is what drives her so nuts when she gets left behind; she's having an episode - then only to realize a way for her to actual help out (by creating a working bomb with the magic stones). She's blissfully happy that it worked; she's falling off the 2nd story of the building and all she cares about is being enamored with what she just did, because she cares about it so much. And when she wants to share her greatest success with the person that matters the most to her in her entire life, who is also the anchor of her psyche, she's instead shown that she actually killed her friends and (foster) father, and is abandoned (in her eyes) by the one person she *literally* needs the most. All to be taken in by someone who will only foster negativity out of that experience. It's fuckin wild man.

Interesting detail I noticed on rewatching this episode; Powder didn't actually notice Vander's body behind Vi. She realized that Vi was upset for some reason (which she couldn't understand, because she thought she just saved the day), so she then starts looking around for clues to tell her why Vi is upset, only then realizing that people died... And even then, her eyes completely pass over Vander's body, and instead fixate on Claggor's goggles. Like she'd learned to subconsciously block out death and violence in her mind (similar to how she covered her eyes and sang a song on the bridge in episode 1).

Vi asks if she did this and Powder almost looks offended and starts looking around when she notices the body is Vander’s. She realizes she killed Vander and goes into denial. She looks away and notices Claggor’s goggles, then realizing she must have killed everyone. Her seeing Vander’s body is what causes her to look away and notice more.

What I meant was that Vander's body was right there, behind Vi when Powder runs up excited about "helping", and she doesn't see it, until she realizes that Vi is upset. And even after that her attention doesn't linger on the body for more than a second at most. My point remains the same, though: Her response to death and violence is clearly some version of denial - which is interesting to consider, in light of her later character development.

Season 2 definitely coming in 2023. Was written with expectation of at least another season and was worked on as a side project. The attention and acclaim they are getting with this masterpiece, they are going to allocate resources for this. They play their cards right. With the amount of material they can pull from, they can have an MCU animated run of their own.

Ahhhh I was waiting for this for so long! This episode was such a heartbreak. It truly is a modern-written tragedy because its all a matter of circumstances. Its great writing when you can empathize with everyone, though I personally had the biggest heartbreak for Powder. Looking forward to y'all finishing the series. The final episode is heartbreaking too.

just throwing it out there that the eye color change was on purpose. Its one of the nice touches this show does. When the characters are first introduced their eyes tend to be more dulled and greyed out, but once they start to become more of the character they are in the game league of legends they get a eye color change to show they are evolving and changing. Like in this case powders eyes are blue, but the moment she was embraced by Silco her eyes turned purple hence her slowly becoming her in game character.
