While it's true that Caitlyn wouldn't have missed under *normal* circumstances, her gun had been MASSIVELY glitching and malfunctioning in that scene - to the extent that she shot off Jinx's finger the first time she tried to kill her. If another glitch had happened again at the wrong moment, she easily couldn't killed the kid by accident.
@jackspratt726418 күн бұрын
She could have missed REGARDLESS. Stop with the Hex-Tech glitching excuse that so many people are making. Jinx was unarmed and being subdued by her sister. Isha jumps in the way and you don't take the shot, period. She blasted the gun out of her hand and the fight was over. Caitlyn was down there on a hit mission pure and simple. She poisoned the air, got tons of people hurt and killed in that montage leading up to finding Jinx. Caitlyn's emotions were destroying her perspective. She was hell-bent on revenge and she was essentially willing to potentially kill a child to make that happen. So, a "glitching gun" is not why she shouldn't have shot. It's the circumstances overall. It was the wrong play to make at the wrong time. All Caitlyn had to do was secure Sevika and the whole fight would have been over after she blasted that gun out of Isha's hand.

@@jackspratt7264 The gun glitching out is a valid reason but like you said the main reason why she shouldn't take the shot is because it's basic gun discipline and safety: you don't take the shot if there's a chance you'll hit something other than your target. You should always act as if every time you raise your gun it WILL fire, so you never point it at something you don't intend to kill or destroy.

@@pabloc8808 but you know what the mission is kept jinx alive if they can, so vi doesnt wrong with that choice just her decision to be on who side is mid, like she want kept her sister alive to the cour so that is the best solution for jinx and cait still get her justice but mention that the first kiss cait give vi she just look at vi lips, make sense that cait really do for her good not for their love, that fake kiss. so no one wrong just their mind and character is that way, vi can left her sister as she say also her lover( you can see at the ep 8 i dont wanna spoil jinx already told vi about why she had to leave vi and cait) that make sense, cait has her reason and vi too. the fight when vi has the chance why she not break or keep children out and kill jinx? bc she still has her love for her sister okay!

@@pabloc8808 What I was saying was that those weapons glitching were never going to be a factor in Caityln's decision to take that shot or not. So, her weapon malfunctioning was not and would not have been a deterrent for what she'd already resigned herself to do. If those weapons were still going crazy in that moment she'd have done what exactly what Jinx did when she jumped up in the air next to the effigy of Janna and pulled the trigger. And honestly, I wish she had, because then her rifle would have likely exploded in her hand the way fish-bones did in Jinx's and all would have been right with the world.

I think another thing Vi didn’t want was for Cait to kill Jinx *in front of* the kid. Like, a kid shouldn’t have to see that, even if they’re from the Undercity
@pabloc880816 күн бұрын
Isha (the kid) had Jinx as a mother figure, and Vi saw her parents die at the hands of the Enforcers when she was a kid herself. I think she saw herself in Isha and didn't want her to grow up with that same hatred and grief.
@AmbushIntheDark18 күн бұрын
Cait *already* missed. Unless she was meaning to shoot Jinx's finger when her head was completely exposed and she has exclusively been aiming for the head. She almost got beat to death and her gun was glitching out. That was *not* a sure shot.

When I heard Woodkid's voice, I knew I was in for one of the best scenes of the year, maybe even the decade. But besides that, this episode is just a masterpiece at giving you the chills and feeling unnerved. Such a good show!

It goes back to the beginning of the episode's discussion. Vi was there when Jayce killed the boy and saw how it affected the boy's mum. If there was a chance she could be involved in another child losing their life, she might be a bit hesitant to let Caitlyn take the shot.

Jinx shot Silco because he was going to shoot Vi. The boy that sounded the alarm was the one Jayce shot who was her son. That is a little girl following Jinx.😊

Caitlyn could have missed and hit the girl. The hextech was going crazy so it could have thrown her off. Was she really aiming for Jinx’s finger in the previous shot?

In a dark way, I believe she was aiming for Jinx's finger, when she could have easily taken a kill shot there. I think Caitlyn really wanted Vi to do it. On some level, Cait has accepted an "us and them" with topside and the undercity. She has reverted to believing one side represents justice and order and the other chaos and mayhem. So it would be wrong for a topsider to kill Jinx. But Vi could do it. Because she's just another filthy trencher cleaning up her own. Also, on a psychological level, I think she wanted Vi to choose her over Jinx. Which is basically the same choice Jinx demanded Vi make in Ep9 of season 1. It's layered and messy. But so are people and so is Arcane,
@crystalfire556418 күн бұрын
@@SeanBoyce-gp That is dark. Hmm…I can see some of it maybe affecting her deep down but I can’t see her knowingly making that decision. So if she went for the finger, I think it would just be subconsciously.

Regarding Caitlyn taking the shot and Vi stopping her: like most aspects of Arcane, it's complicated. Caitlyn is a very good shot, but nobody is perfect. We also just saw hextech glitching out and malfunctioning, including her rifle. Do you really want to risk the life of an innocent child on even the smallest chance, especially given that the fight was over? I also believe that if Caitlyn was in a more normal frame of mind, without revenge and hatred on her mind, that she never would have even considered taking the shot. Do I understand why Caitlyn and some fans were angry at Vi for stopping her? Of course; I can't say that I wouldn't react the same way if I was in Caitlyn's position, given all that she's been through recently. But I also understand why Vi stopped her. Thanks for the video.

Vi is absolutely the one in the right here. There is no guarantee worth taking for Caitlyn's supposed aim, especially not after her experiences with Jayce and the kids in the factory last season, and the fact that the Hextech had all been warping through time, slipping out of their hands. I also love how this episode makes it clear that by "finishing what's left of my family", Jinx actually meant herself. She's been suicidal since she lost Silco, she's just trying to do suicide by cop and get Vi to kill her. She's never actually been about random violence or trying to conquer and control anything. "This isn't how it's supposed to-" because Isha got in the way, and Jinx wasn't about to get an innocent kid involved, she's never been a monster like that. With her in the middle, she can't get Vi to kill her and end their shared trauma

If Cait's intention was a head shot then she missed when she shot off Jinx's finger. Also their hextech started randomly glitching and they don't know why. I think there's more than enough reason to worry Cait misses that shot and hits the kid. Also, I like going back to episode 3 in my mind and referring to her as the kid instead of the GOAT.

Yeah, Caitlyn wouldn't have made the shot without killing the kid. She was very agitated/out of it (Hence her shooting Jinx's finger instead of in the head or chest) while the kid was covering Jinx's most vital parts. Like if Vi didn't put her gauntlet in the way of that one shot, she would have literally hit the kid since the kid had just put her head in front of Jinx's head, which Cait was aiming for.

Cait ain’t gonna miss BUT the hextech was malfunctioning… that bullet could’ve zipped any which way and maybe even killed Vi or the kid

She already missed when the gun WASNT glitching when she shot off Jinx’s finger. Either way the gun is powerful enough to go through Jinx’s head into Ishas
@briw749418 күн бұрын
Man, the problem wasn't that Cait could have missed. It was that Cait wouldn't miss at all, even if it meant to hit the kid. Just so she could get Jinx. Plus with her getting into a fight with Sevika too before that. But I love the fact that it calls back to the Game, where the only way to stop Cait's Ultimate (or make her miss) is to put bodies to block in front of her.
@Snicker-t-v18 күн бұрын
I think both Vi and Cait are right. Cait honestly wouldnt have missed. They made a point to specifically highlight her aim prowess, she wasnt aiming for jinx's head the first time, she was just giving vi the advantage because she knew vi needed the fight. Just like she aimed to disarm the little girl the millisecond she squeezed the trigger when she couldve done worse.. Vi was right in assuming she couldve missed because she hasnt seen THAT much of her aim in such tight spots for very long. This shows plays boths sides so well its hard to say whos right with conviction because all sides have done horrible things for what they think is the right reason

1. Caitlyn DID miss. 2. Something I want to point out that I observed is that neither Cait or Vi seemed to want to kill Jinx. What I mean by this is that Vi didn't want to kill Jinx but felt that in order for there to be peace, Jinx had to die. This is why she asks Caitlyn to take the shot because she doesn't believe she can follow through. For Cait at this point she doesn't fully trust that she has Vi's loyalty. So even though she wants Jinx dead she wants Vi to be the one to do it. What made me think this is that instead of waiting a few seconds and shooting the gun, she very easily could have shot Jinx in the head right there.

Caitlyn wasn't going to miss...she had a shot on Jinx just prior, and she only shot to disable (aimed for her hand/finger). And she using a HexTech rifle (that was glitching)....not sure if that would have went through Jinx or another malfunction at a bad time. Cause if that would have pierced.....the kid, Isha would be dead as well (it is a type of sniper rifle--up close) Or glitches again...and she hurts the wrong person unintentionally.
