The animators took some features of the voice actors in the character design. Vi and Hailee's lips are similar, Jinx has Ella's eyes, Ekko has Reeds Nose and slight overbite. I think they do this to help match the animation to the sounds and expressions their actor uses, so it seems more natural and less uncanny valley.

Sure they have to option to revisit them, but they have said they want to tell other stories. I would LOVE more of these characters, what they did with Jinx is imo the best character work in any story I've ever read, watched, played... anything. But that is also why I kind of like the idea of just letting it end. Let it be the masterpiece it is.

I can't get over this show dude... The music is not leaving my head since saturday. ''Ma Meilleure Ennemie'' especially. That dancing scene in Ep. 7 was so magical and beautiful. Also the song from Ep. 1 ''I can't hear it now'', already got me choked up in the very first scene of season 2. Arcane is one of the best things we ever got in any media. To see a show this thoughtful and invested in todays times, is really rare. The detail and love you guys put into it, is unbelievable. I already miss the characters and listening to these songs makes it really bittersweet. If you guys keep that passion, i'm sure the next thing will be amazing too. Good to see the writers acknowledging there wasn't enough time. Two seasons of 9 episodes was too short for the story they wanted to tell. Also it's very obvious that even though the writers may have in their mind certain characters are permanently killed off, Riot wouldn't let them do it unambiguously. Every champion is given many ways to come back. Jinx the most obvious of all.

So many issues arose because of the 2 season limitation. It's quite sad what a big toll it took on this series. S1 was the best I've seen, S2 sadly was such a big downturn:( It's also confirmed Riot let go of a lot of the writers for S2 meaning budget constraints.

Yeah, that's the biggest takeaway here besides Jinx which many can guess. It was easy to see with all the montages though. They had the ideas but didn't get the budget from whoever decided to really develop some of these ideas and did the best they could with 9.

@@randomfools808 I think it's less about money and more about timing. At the end of the day, Arcane is a part of Riot's marketing campaign, since it's never going to recoup the cost. Riot needs the show to move on so they can promote new skins and merch on other characters.

Its easy to see in Act II and Act III how certain things could have been there own seasons if this was not tied to the sales of a game. Like the montage of the uprising Jinx causes against Caitlin in the under city. This would have been enough for at least half a season for most shows that want to drag on for as long as possible. There was so much in just those few minutes and thats only one example. I love how they told it visually but it's not hard to guess that stuff like that would have been more fleshed out were they not restricted by budget or being tied to sales with the game.

Watching his memories burn away as he becomes the beast feels like a break-up without any closure. You're left feeling like... that's it? We were given some hope, and it's just... erased, like it never even existed? Even after all the fight and coming together again as a family like it was all going to be OK, and they just ended him for good? My heart aches for him and his tragic life, especially given he was such a good father and person.

I'm not entirely convinced. I think they were very particular about not saying Jayce and Viktor are "dead". They are somewhere, perhaps we might not see them again for a long time, maybe never again in an animated show by Fortiche, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear they are somehow still alive, trapped within the arcane. Maybe this is cope, although I wouldn't actually mind if they were dead (other than their stories not being fully resolved), but as I said, they left it ambiguous. Jinx's "death" was far less amibiguous because I suspect they might intend to revisit her character in future projects. I'd even go so far as to say the way Ella answered that question in this video supports that, if she knows she's returning to the character in the future.

@@lona234 I also agree but also, although am happy that they gave Cait and Vi their VioLyn moment, I did think it came a bit too fast and the resolutions for the characters interactions, especially between Cait and Vi, were a bit too brief AFTER the war. I am happy that they have the final scenes together and are happy and content. I'm already thinking about them, envisioning them years later, getting married and having a few kids together. Cait could carry the kids, with some donor pitching in (could be any friend of theirs really), but have Vi's hair-dyed ways and sharp personality. Cait staring into the fireplace with a tinge of emotions in her eyes, and a badass eyepatch. She could totally be like Solid Cait in the trilogy. IF they ever thought about it. I just wish they would do like a short, set years into the future, coming back and checking in on Vi and Caitlyn's relationship and where they are at then, maybe Vi is wrestling with doubts of marrying Caitlyn or asking her the question, but by the end of it, she asks and Caitlyn accepts. I wish Rictus would be in one of these sequel spinoffs. Rictus tearing some bad guys apart while fighting and saving lives would be awesome and full of MK-style brutalities.

Throw out the first 2 acts of the second season I was wondering why Echo wasn't in it a little more, but then the 3rd act came out and it blew my expectations out of the water. @DigitalHabit This would be, as a writer and wannabe author, the ONE series I would want to revisit over and over again just to study the complexities in Vi and Caitlyn's relationship. In season 1, they form a bond early on and it follows into season 2, but that bond is severed by Caitlyn's obsessed need and want for revenge that it clouds her judgment. By the conclusion, they finally find their way back to each other fully. Finally, Riot Games completes their love story. It is a love story, too. I wonder if this will affect the games lore in any way and will make Riot want to rewrite both backstories. I hope not, since they have a nice thing established in that backstory for both characters. They leave it open to interpretations and I like that. And in episode 8 we see her actually apologize and say she knows that Vi was right about abessa. Cait then reassures Vi that she was in the right to believe in her sister the whole time and that she herself was wrong. although, she doesn't say it in those words. If you think about it, on the outside Cait is fine, composed even, unlike Vi who wears the grief of the relationship. Looking a lot like a singer of a 80s-90s Goth rock band. This show was amazing in the songs chosen too. I found The warning because of this show. I am a little mad that they ended up pulling back the sex scene a bit, but at least they showed it in a fun, passionate, teasing first time way. Some said it wasn't their first, I think it definitely was. Cait wiping the hair from Vi's eyes, and Vi struggling at first to get Caitlyn's pants undone and off. That's all very realistic right there for a first time. Also definitely not the last by the way that last scene is with them looking content and in love. By the end, they finally found each other and the love that they wanted all along, had been right there with each other. It just took Jinx going away for them to be able to fully fall into a comfortable, domestic life living together. They can now go on and be settled down with each other, and hell, maybe we can convince the writers to get Vi and Caitlyn a third season specifically focused on Vi and Caitlyn's romance some 4-5 years post-2nd season and see into their relationship and the way they work with each other fighting crime is now more tight and connected. Maybe a special ends with Vi/Cait proposing and about to get married. That's what I would like to see.

I teared up during the Ekko episode. Knowing that if life went a little differently that he and mostly those around him could have had a happy life. Instead now he fights to save what he can. Bonds are very important to him. He chose to have that art on the wall in his base to remember those close to him. Even having Powder on there though he knows what she becomes. To have a taste of something we wish for is bitter sweet to me. We wish that life could go in a way that we want, but instead have to face a world that can be difficult. You can be influenced so much by negative that you forget how to be happy for yourself. You forget how to let your guard down from the harshness of life because dealt with it for so long and you feel you have to be ready for it at all times. That coupled with what Powder's life could have been and their relationship together in that universe vs his main universe. As bitter as they may sound, it's sweet when you can focus on the good that you are working to maintain, develop, and grow. That all is not lost.

@CouchCommando_ Unrelated here, but with Vi and Caitlyn's break I thought it was extremely necessary, as bittersweet as the reunion is months later, with Caitlyn trying to feel something with Maddie but being unable to fill it completely until Vi comes back and calls her "cupcake" again. Then, she realizes that she shouldn't have done what she did to Vi. I do wish they had a moment there where Caitlyn realizes, when Maddie is about to pull the trigger, that she is and has been in love with Vi for the past several months. She was just clouded by bitterness, pain, and the inability to grieve for her mother.

Are Viktor and Jayce dead? Answer from the lore: TL;DR - no. Their souls exists in a seperate realm - the spiritual realm, but their bodies were destroyed. More details below: In the lore, there are 4 realms, 2 of them are the spiritual realm and the physical realm. The spiritual realm has magic. The runes Jayce and Viktor used linked the physical realm and the spiritual realm, bringing magic into the physical world. Every living being is said to have a soul - they have a form in the physical realm AND in the spiritual realm. Yordles, for examples, have their spiritual form bound to Bandle City, so when their body dies their spirit returns to Bandle City. That's why Heimerdinger isn't dead. We know of *one* time where Yordles were killed in a genocide except for one (Teemo). But that's happened in the far future after when Arcane ended. So Jayce and Viktor aren't _dead_ - their bodies are, but their spirits aren't. So where are their spirits? Probably somewhere in the spirit realm. Viktor's body could have a body again via runes used on a fully mechanized body, giving us the Leauge Champion we know, while Jayce would need a physical body - in the game his body is flesh and blood. They writers said the explosion was their *end* - not their death. Their end - in the story. But there are ways to continue their story down the line and bring them back - the mechanics are there.

@galgrunfeld9954 I also wished to see a proposal or marriage scene between Vi and Caitlyn, but I realize it is very young in their intimacy and romance has been there since the start, with definite tensions their and a bond that they form that is tested while apart. Caitlyn, when it's revealed she's been seeing Maddie as a sort of distraction, I figured Maddie later on would have some kind of bad fortune (boy was I right), but also felt bad because I KNEW that this was a plot device just for Vi and her getting back to each other when they are separated. And at their individual lowest. Vi wears her shame and loss of girlfriend. Caitlyn hides it well but shows internally her struggles to be the leader she thinks she has to. Then realizes her faults and mistakes when Vi confronts her about it. When together again, it is a bittersweet reunion, but yet they are shown to seamlessly work together again. As if there was no separation. In that moment, with Maddie trying to be her voice of reason, and then trying to touch her, she thinks of Jinx, Vi, and then basically tells Maddie to leave her alone. Hey, no shame in Maddie shooting her shot while she did before she ACTUALLY gets shot, but at the end of the day, Vi and Cait are soulmates. I do hope they talked about things after off-screen. That would be awkward if Vi was wondering if Caitlyn was with Maddie after.

The lore of Runeterra (League of Legends) is so vast and exxpansive that a "death" for a character (specifically the main ones) may not be permanent. Yes, finally they are confirmed couple by Riot Games (it only took the longest shipped lady-couple-but-not-confirmed to happen now in 2024), but I am selfishly wanting that beautiful animation to show their affection in a new way with further taking their relationship to the next level. Maybe at first Caitlyn is afraid of marriage with Vi because of how much she feels for her. She knows if she lost her, it would break her like her dad was. But she is stronger with Vi and she knows it is another further path in their relationship. Get the proposal done, with Vi doing it (why? Because she's the one that was closed-off first, she was angry and bitter when they were first together, then their break and makeup months later, putting a stop to a war, and finally being at peace with themselves and love each other), and get the marriage scene months later. Adopt a kid that they saved along the way, maybe. One that looks a bit like Caitlyn but who is punky like Vi. Show their growing affection and love in different ways, OUTSIDE of a sex scene or two. There are other ways to show intimacy and even sexier ways to do animated sex scenes, like showing them from a distance with the moonlight shining in on their bed. With their shadows on the wall reflected. That's an artistic touch to the scene.
