Yorick is such a fascinating character in League of Legends so getting to delve into this lore was a proper interesting video to do! The shadow isles has a lot of depth and it's going to be interesting to see where his story goes forward in the future!

The Kindred despise those who cheat death, in any way shape or form. People augmented magically (Elise), chemically (Singed) or by other sources (Yorick) to live longer than they should will always get the Wolf. Yorick is 1000 something years old in present time, so there is no doubt about it.

Yes that is absolutely true - the mist is 100% a living entity and its smart as well and manipulative! Very creepy character but I love the maiden and its embodiment in a physical form! Great design choice honestly

Makes me sad what they've done with Yorick. Throwing away the masterful arc he had set up for him. The monk with nothing paralleled with the king who had it all and it wasn't enough. Who once laid souls to rest but must now rouse them and keep them in eternal torment to combat the one who chained them to the Shadow Isles, penitence and excess, combating evil by doing evil. The parallels... BUT NAH! Dead woman from Lucian's backstory that now out of nowhere just tripped on Isolde's soul and DBZ fused with her as a kid, but we never mentioned that until now hehe. Oh and now Lucian's motivations have to change from avenging Senna to being a one-note overbearing husband so let's create another useless character in Akshan to take over for the old Lucian people liked and who will presumably do nothing but collect dust at this point. Yeah whatever man we gotta make all these unnecessary changes to still pay off on the whole Lucian-Viego parallel they've always had, being two broken men both destroyed by their respective lost loves. All worth flipping the table, though because Senna's more marketable than Yoick, let's throw her in some trendy atheleisure and ruin a plot ten years in the making for a quick buck wheeeee. Who cares if all the amazing writers who made this once shitty lore great feel they have to quit as a result of not being heard! Actually fuck it let's lay em off and make the SKINS TEAM write SoL!!! I hate Riot's execs sometimes for what they do when they stick their beaks in. Maybe Yorick will get to breathe on Unbound Thresh whenever we get around to that -__-

so as far as yoricks lore goes, riot kinda just forgot him, as far as I know he doesn't make an appearance in any of the shadow isles related events despite that being his whole mission. Probably bc he isnt a very popular or attractive champ.

He shows up ONCE: gives a *portion* of his life vial AND Maiden of the Mist (he can just do that, apparently) to the Sentinels, then leaves---never to be seen again. Pretty much, every SI champion besides Viego and Gwen (for obvious reasons) got shafted during Ruination and more. Even Thresh wasn't one hundred percent safe.

Because apparently there was 3 or 4 different versions of it. It doesn’t make sense that Graves, Pyke, and fucking Rengar are sentinels. Rengar is my favorite champion but I’m not buying that bs. Contrasts between aatrox and yorick are even deeper, because in gameplay, they are both counter peaks each other, and as long you being confident, you will win. There was so many times when i as a yorick was beated by great aatrox, or aatrox was beated by great me. They even have similar way to engage by trap someone in cage and chains, and then use E to start the true fight, and their ult is the second chance to respond with new feeling of true power. Yet aatrox is teamfight-control machine, yorick is lone wolf that rather let his team die, but finish his splitpush. Sheesh

I love the fact that many people that know nothing of League loved ARCANE, and they were so impressed by the world, not knowing Piltover and Zaun is just the tip of the iceberg. If ARCANE continues its success (and expand to different regions) i wana see people's reaction to: 1. Stories about the Invasion of Ionia 2. Internal political strife within Noxus 3. the legends surrounding Targon 4. The mage/sorcery persecution in Demacia.. and so many more and then there's Georgie, someone that's genuinely interested in the world of Runeterra. Keep up the good work Georgie, lovin the content

yorick is my favorite champion and i really relate to the things he's gone through. i love his thematic of always holding onto a purpose, no matter how small it must've been for him in the grand scheme of things. and it's really not like he was given a choice to put his people, his fellow townsfolk to rest. he still continues to do it despite probably knowing the people that became the twisted inhabitants of the shadow isles. and to top it all off he has the person who put him in this situation to thank for a sadistic spirit tormenting his mind for all of eternity, through all of that, he doesn't even get the gift of a peaceful afterlife. his story is tragic in so many ways.

I'm a Yorick main so it's nice to see more content of his, no matter the format, Still kinda sadge they did him, kalista & Maokai dirty in the Sentinel's of Light event though :[ Also the creepy female voice were from the maiden of the Mist, his Ultimate, while every other one, was from a removed map called the twisted treeline that is from the shadow isles, which had Ghosts that would taunt Yorick with voicelines when they see him, he never really responds to them, but always does towards the Maiden.

Yorick is a great one that seldom been noticed even by lore-knower cuz his low appearance in story how can a person be so quiet, self-knowing, endurable, patient, staunch and kind in heart after living almost hopeless and lonely so many thousand years? how strong-willed should he be to carry all of these but more agony souls? and yet, he is still going and fighting for the once blessed isles, for every soul and life that in need to the very end till that, Yorick shall keep digging, with his tired but coriaceous arms

Its really sad that even in the lore of the game there isnt that much known about him - like he has been forgotten to time! I hope they go back and do more with this story, or they bring him into the MMO as it seems like such a waste of a good character arc 😭

A fun fact of back in the days when he first was reworked: As Viego was FAR from even being a concept, the Ruined King was believed to be an old wise king and as the Shadow Maiden was kinda confirmed to be the soul of the Ruined King's wife (and as she's oddly obsessed with tormenting Yorik) it was believed that he was actually the Ruined King, his memory wiped from the accident, preparing an army to strike down the King the moment he returned ignorant that he himself was his biggest enemy. That obviously was pretty quickly dropped as his lore changed, but I did loved that theory a lot, and it saddens me even more that he was forgotten during the ruination events.

Seeing Yorick lore again makes me realize how *underutilized* all of the Shadow Isle champions are (besides Viego, Thresh, and Gwen): * Elise: practically, Vilemaw lives only in LoR * Hecarim: got one short story and is supposedly stranded in Demacia (found through a social media post). * Kalista: at least got a novel and short story building up to the Ruination. * Karthus: literally forgotten. * Makoai: at least has an important role in the Ruined King, not so much in SoL. * Vex: okay, but vaguely explains how Shadow exists. * Yorick: practically degraded into a minor cameo during SoL. Coupled with how no new stories have come out on Universe in six months, as well as the region not really having a main conflict anymore, I'd be surprised if we get another SI champion in a while (like with the Void, and we've seen how that turned out).

Maiden of the mist was part of fragments soul of Isolde. But after sentilnels of light completelly destroyed Isolde soul she is gone. Viego can finally become what he was before her death or he will be worst and become king of undead who have no thing to loose. And he will rebuild his Imperial kingdom on Camavor. yes, yorick. One of my absolut faviorts, especially in terms of lore, charakter and voicelines. One thing needs to be clear. Yorick is not immortal per se. The Tear of life is what keeps him alive. At any moment Yorick can decide to just end himself, but its his believe that his Duty is to end the curse is what makes him holding on to life. He wants to die and still after all the suffering he endured and horriable things he saw, he continues to live for his duty, that is an evidence of a strong will. Also the Maiden is a part of Isoldes Soul which was splitt apart

Riot did Yorick so damm dirty during the whole sentinels of light and shadow isle saga as a whole. He was not in the game at all and the sentinels of light gone replaced and just added in the very last section with some talk and that is it, i remember they did a questionary for the game and the producer practically admitted that cause he was not popular they left him out despite the lore was build specificially for him to be the one fighting the ruined king. Ever since than a small but growing fandom within the community has been trying to get him back on the spotlight, im glad you like him cause he is very underrated eveb by the people that made him.

Like many people have pointed out, Yorick deserved much more in ruination. He is amaizing character, who's lore could be argued to be the best in the entire league of legends universe. What was supposed to be a tale of a character, who was seen as outcast by others, saw the worst possible thing to happen in front of him, struggled alone for enternity and kept going forward for glimmer of hope to save his homeland and finally after years of enduring. end the ruined king's life. After ending viego's life and cleansed the curse which claimed blessed isles, Yorick would have finally earned his rest and be able to pass away to the afterlife. The character design, his lore, voicelines, the music in the background (especially with arclight skin) complement each other so well. There's this feeling which you get from all of them. This desperate, melancholic feeling is present yet there is also hope. As bad as thing look and feel, you still mustn't give up. Keep in mind, when they do gameplay trailers, they purposely make the characters look much stronger than they are. Like him summoning the little gremlins and them killing all the minions in like 2 hits is not actual gameplay. Basically they stack the character they are showing off with levels and items to make them appear strong since, they're the focus of the video.

The fact that characters like Yorik, Maokai, Kalista and even Hecarim were not properly utilized during the Ruination story with Viego ... is still a big fail on Riots part ... and a wound on the lore of Runeterra Also the story about Yorick not saving the dying man because he did not have enough ... shows how bad the Ruination in-game story was as he gives from the vial to multiple people ... which should mean he has none left ...
