Cait is a perfect shot. She shot the gun out of Isha's hand a moment before, and that was a way harder target than Jinx's head, and then show her again firing a warning shot that grazes Vi. She wasn't gonna miss, and the writers are showing us that. This scene is showing Vi's inability to give up on Jinx

Wouldn’t call her a walking red flag. Acting irrationally would be more accurate. Cait’s got plenty of redeemable qualities and this is her lowest point. Jinx literally blew her mum to high hell, and mortally wounded Viktor. Ofc she was gonna crash out.
