My favorite part about this scene is when Viktor says, "That device can't be." Which means Ekko and Heimerdinger literally created something that CANNOT EXIST in their world. That's why when the strands of light started coming down from the sky, it missed Ekko. He is literally living "out of time." He's a ghost to Viktor's gaze because he and Jayce are the only two that have been "touched" by the arcane. It just goes to show that if he didn't return from the wild rune, his world would have been destroyed. He unironically saved the world.

I don't think being touched by the arcane is what made them invisible to the light strands, rather it was being touched by the wild rune (otherwise Mel would've been safe). It definitely makes more sense than the strands missing him because he was unconscious.

@wojciechwerner8787 I think it's a type of symbolism that it "cannot be." As in, Jinx, Heimerdinger, and Ekko would never have (in this world) worked together to create it. It also is a form of technology that was created by the combined efforts of a Piltover and Zaun. I don't think it's so much that it literally cannot be, but that with Viktor's godly intellect and understanding of the arcane, he could never have imagined this device was possible.

The only thing that surprises me is that all the credit for the victory is given to Ekko when it was ultimately a team effort. What Ekko managed to do was give Victor a lucid moment to listen to what Jayce had to say. Practically, without Jayce there, what Ekko achieved would have been… giving Victor a wound? And without Ekko there, everything would have ended up just like in Jayce's vision. Give some credit to the guy who had to live for quite a while in a Fallout-style universe, only to end up sacrificing himself alongside his best friend for the good of all Runeterra.

I think if jayce and victor didnt work together everybody wouldve died when the anomaly exploded. victor and jayce managed to contain it so it caused no damage and they dissapeared. if that was not the case I think the world wouldve ended up like the wasteland jayce saw since its clear an explotion happened there and not victor pupeteering everyone.
