Cait does miss. She was aiming for a head shot when she shot Jinx's finger. Plus the gun was glitching out too. She wasn't thinking clearly and taking risky shots out of anger.

I'm with you somewhat on this point, but hitting the wrong body part doesn't mean she wasn't calculating well enough to make sure she didn't hit the wrong person. That was extremely high action and Jinx moving super-humanly. The shot can still be taken as long as she's watching the movement of everyone nearby. But, well, I said this elsewhere, but I don't think "you might miss" was why Vi didn't want her to shoot, even though she pretended that was the reason. Seeing this child hugging Jinx, it was like a mother-daughter relationship, something Vi would have never thought possible. She realized Jinx isn't completely evil the way she had forced herself into thinking. And then there's that old thought returning: "I can't let my sister be killed." But she can't tell Caitlyn this, because they've already been around about this so many times.

In the scene where Vi was talking to her about there being a child and telling her to stop, Cait raises her gun to kill Jinx again and we see in the scope Jinx, but when she fires, she hits Vi instead. She wasn't being precise with her shots. Exactly in the minute 13:59 you can see where she's aiming at.

She doesn’t miss when she’s focused and level headed but she was very angry and emotional at that time The issue though is when Isha stepped in, she straight up just should not shoot because Isha was keeping her head close to Jinx’s At that point it would be better for her to miss cuz if she hit a headshot, it would definitely kill both Jinx and Isha Yet Cait shot at them anyway. Thankfully Vi protected them

@@BattleAngelFan99 I have to side with the finger shot being a miss. She hit Jinx, but she didn't hit her target, which makes it a miss to me. Isha was moving a lot, so even if Caitlin was able to shoot where she wanted there was no guarantee Isha wouldn't have moved at just the wrong time to get hit. Plus we've seen how big the holes are that Caitlin's rifle makes, there's a good chance Isha would have been killed even if Caitlyn hit her target. Finally, I feel that Caitlyn's "I don't miss" is arrogance, not a fact. She's good, but her ability isn't supernatural; it's training and talent. She CAN miss, she just usually doesn't. There's also an aspect from the game, which the show makes many references to, that I think is relevant. Caitlyn's ult is that she can pick a target and get a guaranteed hit... EXCEPT, other champions can intercept the hit. So even if her ult shot always goes straight towards its intended target, outside factors can still prevent the shot from actually reaching its target. I definitely think there's merit in your thoughts on Vi having a change of heart, I do think she was going for a kill shot before Isha jumped in but like you said seeing Isha and Jinx together really shattered the view she had been forcing herself to take to help her resolve to take her out. So I wouldn't be surprised if the child was just an excuse, especially how she responded to the kid getting killed by Jayce. I feel like Vi was affected more by that kid's death than she let on, but she also frequently tries to take a pragmatic viewpoint, not to mention having grown up in the undercity has desensitized her to a lot of the grim realities. So yeah, if she were truly 100% all in on killing Jinx she might have let it happen. I really love how every time I rewatch the episodes I get something new out of it, a lot of which recontextualizes different events for me. The guy having Mel at gunpoint at the memorial, for example; I thought it was really weird that he didn't shoot Mel, and was kind of annoyed because it seemed like the show was pulling its punches in a way that it hadn't really done before. Especially since it made no sense; no way that chembaron lady (can never remember her name) wouldn't have wanted the poetic justice of taking a loved one away from Jayce before killing him. But the fact that Ambessa was behind the whole thing made me realize that she had probably made a deal with the chembaron, that in exchange for Ambessa's aid she wasn't allowed to kill Mel.

If you’re wondering why Jinx’s shark rocket wasn’t glitching at first, it’s because it has two modes, one being the regular rocket, and the other using hex tech. You can see her switch to it and that’s when it starts glitching

You can also see the eye of it is still doing the color changing of the glitching foreshadowing it, the rocket fires normally but as you said when it switches then it blows.

23:11 As i mentioned in another comment, the thing is that Jinx did send all the factory smog to Piltover but because Piltover is a more open area, the factory smog dissipate without much issue, unlike in Zaun. So, Jinx send what is the usual Zaun experience, that the people have to live with daily, to Piltover.

Given what we've seen of those bullets from her shooting a huge hole through the standee in the arcade, that shit is going right through somebody's body and out the other side explosively

I do find that interesting because even before you know Ambessa's intentions, is putting Caitlyn in charge a good thing? I was concerned the moment Ambessa announced her name. But the scene is also built to show off and invoke mob mentality with the chest thumping, so def super interesting to see diff people's reactions

​@@beardlessdragon It doesn't help that Ambessa's fantastic design pulls us into this idea that she knows EXACTLY what she's doing. The uniform, the scowl, the power in her words. The way she walks, talks, and acts (don't even get me started on the bath scene from S1), it's clear to both us and the rest of the cast that this woman is meant to be respected and feared. I'm not the slightest bit surprised that some audiences would immediately stand by her. She's terrifyingly persuasive. When I first saw the salute, I shuddered, and for obvious reason. To me, the salute was a symbol of violence and conquest. It's written on her face, especially with that low-angle closeup we see of her. It's 100% intentional. For others, I've noticed, the salute was a call to arms, a symbol of triumph and victory. She's the boss, the gladiator, the woman you obey no matter the circumstances or cost, and it's interesting to see who decides to stand by her side before realizing what's happening, and who is still skeptical of her intentions. I think it's fascinating the way this character has influenced the audience in different ways, and I'm curious to know each person's thoughts regarding this scene specifically. I just LOVE how grey the story is on both sides, and it encourages some really interesting discussion regarding morality both in and out of universe

Even if Ambessa does not orchestrate the attack at the memorial she is still a warmongering authoritarian setting up a puppet dictator in order to enact Marshall law and create a police state. There is nothing to cheer for here.

jinx shot up the Gray toxic gas back up to piltover. Partly as a f*k you. She just made it more pretty. It wouldn't have the same toxic effect as it has downstairs because it would be disperesed into the air. While down below it is trapped. But some of the citizens got affected, mostly because they arn't used to that kind of exposure. Silco actually used the same teknic in his meeting with the other Cembarrons in season 1. He mentioned how bad the air was (before the Kerimans put in the ventilation system) which is why the older people in the undercity have higher tollerance for it. I assume Jinx has a good tollerance for it because of the Shimmer in her system. And also. Yeah. Cate would probobly not have missed the shot. The most likley senario would have been her taking both Jinx and the kid out. That close and with Hex teck. She would have taken both of their head out sense they where side by side.

29:52 while Vi obviously was worried about the kid, Isha, once she was there, if you look at the moment Isha got between them, Vi was mid swing at Jinx’s face. Vi may have hesitated once she got up close, but she was still ready to do what she thought needed to be done. As for Cait missing - yeah she’s a great shot and all, but with everything that just happened in that fight(hextech glitching, Cait getting into a brawl with Sevika, etc) it’s hard to place 100% trust in a shot like that, personally.

⁠@@troikas3353jumping off this- I’ve noticed that some of this show’s audience conflate liking Jinx with wanting her to be morally blameless for her actions (she’s not.), and so they decide it’s actually completely Vi’s fault that Jinx turned out how she did, in the process conveniently forgetting that Vi was actually returning to Powder when she gets kidnapped and imprisoned after taking a few moments away to assess the fact that her sister killed their entirely family over some dumb shit. It sucks that in a show with such nuanced character portrayals, some still want to judge characters in such black and white terms.

@@user-yl2so8db5t Definitely happens though its less to do with the characters being morally grey and more to do with people just conflating "I can sympathize with or understand this characters perspective" with "this characters actions are entirely justified and any who oppose them must be the bad guys". Jinx is sympathetic, getting her viewpoint, especially as a young child, makes her someone your inclined to root for and want to get help. Doesn't change she's a serial killer that's butchered countless people. And not for any noble cause or higher goal, just because her coping mechanism for dealing with trauma pushed her to please the person shes codependent on and that person was Silco who used her as his personal attack dog. Mostly on her own people in Zaun. And I think this is even more prominent with Silco himself whom a chunk of the fandom really want to pretend is just a misunderstood stepdad, and not the complex but genuinely vile abusive manipulator he really was. The actual blame for the night Vander "died' doesn't lie with Powder or Vi, who were just incredibly young kids one of which was special needs and the other of which was beaten half to death by half a dozen adults before having a building fall on her head. The responsibility for that night lies with Silco as hes the fully grown and cognizant adult that created the entire situation by deliberately trying to murder tweenage orphans for his own benefit in the first place.

It doesn't matter if she was kidnapped or not, Powder still felt a lot of pain and genuinely thought Vi didn't care and diched her to save herself. She never knew that Vi was kidnapped until literal YEARS later. Vi now feels the EXACTLY how Powder felt when the person she loved and relied on the most left her, and the show makes it even more clear by showing her crying in the same position that Powder was when she was abandoned.

The smoke that lifted above to piltover was the poison gas which was shown shooting up to piltover when the lever was pulled. This is also evident as a small child in the final scene was wearing a gas mask after being infected by the grey in the final scene with ambessa talking to the piltover families.

I think the main difference, and this is very important: Piltover is an open space, so The Grey can easily dissipate, unlike in Zaun, but that doesn't mean it didn't have victims, as you mentioned the child but also, wasn't poison gas, was said in ep. 2 and this one that The Grey is factory smog trapped underground.

Ambessa is a true genius. Caitlin is the perfect puppet. People like Caitlin do not have what it takes to actually lead a country, let alone an army. She's got power and influence, but she lets her emotions get to her, which makes her the perfect puppet. Additionally, putting Caitlin in charge makes Ambessa seem less suspicious since she is technically not in charge.

I think it’s more than that. When Caitlin wants to she’s prepared to step on any toes. Ambessa saw that when Caitlin tells Sallo to shut up in the council meeting. Ambessa sees her as threat. Her name is a threat. It “bewitches” people as Sallo says. In one move Ambessa both removes the only threat to her taking power while also propping up the perfect idol for Piltover to rally behind while they unknowingly serve Ambessa’s wants.

Here's what I was thinking about in that scene where Vi tells Caitlyn to stop: It's not so much that there was a child. It's not that Caitlyn would hit the child. It was what Vi and we realize when we see this child ready to protect Jinx with her own life. This innocent little kid loves her. There's something in Jinx to love and we're potentially the bad guys if we're targeting her as the cause of all the problems. If we kill Jinx, this little girl will hold it against us, and so will all the others who may love Jinx. So then what are we really accomplishing and are we the evil? And this was why Vi didn't want to join the enforcers to begin with, because in her heart, the evils perpetrated on the undercity started with Piltover. I would remind you of the scene at the beginning of the series, Vi's parents dead, killed by enforcers, and then little Vi looking defiantly at Piltover. And Vi knew she couldn't bring herself to say all this to Caitlyn again. She made up an excuse, that she was afraid they might hit the kid.

her devises made colorful but the grey can be lethal to people not used to it. but since Piltover is a open space it dissipated in a few minutes but probably this potentially caused many times more victims that season one missile we even had a close in a child affected by the attack on Anbessa spech

I personally think Vi made a point in regards to Caitlyn. I mean, considering all their weapons were glitching like crazy only a few mere minutes ago in the fight, it makes sense for Vi to be skeptical about Cait's precision at the current moment because the Hextech clearly had a malfunction. I also feel like her perspective has evolved, before she was fine with kids getting killed. Aside from her sisterly love, I think the memorial massacre taught her a lesson on the stupidity of killing a kid attached to a crime boss.

Ambessa is a tactician and also good at manipulating people, she used Caitlyns anger and revenge to initiate her plan... The black rose is somewhat a hint or rather a character introduced by the last arc it seems....i can't give any specific details as to who that character is but gamers, fans who know more about the game and its deep lore might know what i'm talking about.... now i wanna see you guys react on ACT 2 because damn it is an emotional damage on viewers....😭😭 if ever you are finished with the series...i suggest to watch all the cinematics of League of Legends...from 2011-2024... because this will tell you that Zaun and Piltover is like 1% of the whole world of Arcane/league of legends...you may not understand the context of the cinematics but you will about to see how many interesting characters you may enjoy or anticipate to watch in the upcoming series projects....remember Riot and Fortiche will not stop the story here, they will continue more stories and probably tackle different world areas other than Zaun and Piltover, it could be past, future or present storylines....

The grey is the poison gas in the underground and Cait's mom was the one who helped set up the ventilation system to help keep it away and give the people of zaun cleaner air, seemingly from an altruistic belief that the people of the undercity deserve to breathe. Cait in her hunger for revenge used her new status as the head of her house and new authority over the ventilation system to strategically release the grey while they searched for Jinx, so Cait seems to have decided to disagree with her mother and that as long as Jinx is out there the people of the undercity do not in fact deserve to breathe. Jinx as a response rerouted the ventilation and set up caches of dye so that they could send the grey up into pilltover and give them a taste of what it's like living in zaun with the addition of jinx's signature graffiti.

Being willing to shoot towards a child even while guaranteeing not missing her target doesn't mean Caitlyn isn't in s state of mind and wouldn't have also hit Isha. That's the part Vi didn't like, and rightfully so. Plus considering Caitlyn's emotional state she might have missed. Emotions play a heavy negative imact on what real people and characters are known to do well. I don't consider Caitlyn to be anywhere near correct in this situation. And she shows it with her attitude towards Caitlyn in the breakup when she punches Vi and reacts as she does.

Honestly the last conversation between Vi and Cait is about her possibily missing Jinx and getting the kid Isha. That is very unlikely cause Cait is an excellent shot. However her killing Jinx in the arms of that kid would have created a possibly even worse Jinx in that kid.

Cait very likely would've hit Isha tbh. We've seen those bullets. They make huge holes. They would def penetrate through someone's body. With Isha fully hugging Jinx, there's nowhere Cait could've hit Jinx lethally that wouldn't have also hit Isha. Cait was not thinking at all but you're also right that even if she somehow managed to only take out Jinx, what a f*cked up thing to do to a child

Caits gun is glitching so bad its jumping between different spaces in reality and shooting out magical electrical shocks. Even if Cait has perfect accuracy, she's taking a shot near a child with an unreliable weapon.
