this might be my favorite episode of Arcane, there is such a rollercoaster of emotion with Vander/Warwick getting healed by Viktor, and then Viktor getting blasted by Jayce and causing all that chaos Isha means "the protector" and they did not give her that name for no reason, beautiful story

Yep. Definitely one of the best episodes of entire series 🤩 despite, you know, the pain. But it’s painful because they made us care so much

'I'm on Vi's side' 100%. Favorite character. Makes mistakes, fucks up, but like Vander said she's got a good heart. She's a good person, and she's just trying to do the right thing. No greater motive than that, do the right thing and look after the people she loves. Plus ya know, she's awesome.

One thing that scared me after this episode, was how Jinx snapped in episode 4 when Isha was taken but was alive. Episode 7 however, shows you a side of Jinx that could never expect.

Holy crap, you guys had the most composed reaction to this episode I've ever seen. I, myself, was ugly crying the first time I saw it, my mom and best friend were absolutely pissed, and five of the other reaction channels I watched were sobbing, one of them to the point where she could hardly even talk and another one had to pause their reaction because they had a bad anxiety attack midway through.

Completely agree with what you said about Jinx's glasses line. I think the point is, it's both. Her closeness to Isha makes some things really simple: protect the small human! Even as it makes other things more complicated: do you fight for larger goals, freedom for Zaun and more opportunities for Isha? Or do you tune it out, because it would need you to risk everything. Just like Vander had to put the kids before his huge stabilising role in Zaun, and refuse to hand them over. This theme is *everywhere* Also, lyrics of the gentle song playing as Victor tries to recover Vander's mind? "remember me I'm already gone" Goddamn you Fortiche.

Caitlyn almost never expresses her emotions in words throughout the entire series. The are almost always conveyed through her eyes, through her tone, and through her actions It's a very interesting choice by the writers for a character who has a lot of ups and downs emotionally and has so many internal layers. I love it personally, but it does lead to her being misunderstood and mischaracterized by the audience a lot, from what I've seen

Ambessa's little treatise on the Principles of Strength (Vision, Might and Guile) is included willfully and should be pretty important in the upcoming show, these define how Noxians live their lives and it's not really their philosophy they unknowingly adopted them from their own oppressor who is a distant memory at this point in history. Oh and RIP Isha I guess, I felt like she was just a plot device but rip to her

She spent months trying to get Cait away from Ambessa and then Vi shows up and does it in two seconds. Cait really folded when Vi called her Cupcake.

How did those hex crystals even exploded? In the first season they were unstable and cracked all over but in this episode hex spheres are supposed to be safe to use even when overcharged as it was explained by Jayce after he made them.

Technically Caitlyn is the law still in Piltover. Whatever side she takes is labeled as “right” at the moment. Ambessa being at odds with her makes Ambessa the outlaw here. So, ironically VI and Jinx are now both aligned with Piltover when they ally with Caitlyn.
@DefinitelyNotDefinitive29 күн бұрын
Good point 🙂 though I guess we also saw it as Caitlyn was made the law by Ambessa so that she holds the true power. But Piltover wouldn’t follow her willingly which is why she had Caitlyn be in power thinking she’d make a good puppet due to her grief and Ambessa knowing that and revenge are great motivators and will have people usually with blinders on. But Vi was able to take those blinders off 😏

This is the classic Arcane episode where everything goes to hell. Vander lost. Everyone in the colony apparently dead. Viktor killed by his best friend. Jaycen clearly willing to kill anyone who gets in his way without any doubt. Ambessa loses her right hand man and I guess the closest thing she has to a friend. This could be an amazing season finale for any series, in Arcane it's just the end of the second act. Isha's death didn't surprise me remembering the first season and the various children that appeared, so as soon as I saw it I already assumed she would die, the only question was when. Constantly waiting for it to happen made it not affect me much. The alchemist remains the only one who never loses anything, for now at least. At least Caitlyn and Vi have reconciled. It's something good among so much catastrophe.

Eh people are too quick to judge Victor's hivemind as a negative. He allowed individuality still and it was more a network of shared information. Similar ideas have been seen in other fictional IPs where this concept for a society works out just fine. The only reason it doesn't work and Viktor is forced to the extreme of a true hivemind is because of violence from others. Even in other properties where a true hivemind exists, the leader recognizes individuality is needed for evolution and growth, else things become stale and unadapting.
@Ashton.camilleri9 күн бұрын
I mean tbf there are clues that even this early on the hivemind purifies and strip's individuals of their individuality and their (perceived) flaws. I mean take both Salo and Huck, Huck is typically characterised by fear yet here he stands before the noxian army alone, even if this is beneficial to them, it's not them
@XC113019919 күн бұрын
@Ashton.camilleri Still not really, Victor removes imperfections of fear, selfishness, ego, etc but they as a person is still there. To say that alteration is wholly bad is just common media brainwashing to the potential of a new species.
