It got ignored a bit in season 1, but she lost her parents, second dad, brothers, thrown in jail and tortured by the guards for years, saw her sister become a monster all while blaming herself for it….she said it herself, the only thing that was keeping her going was getting back to Powder. Now, she has nothing, and she’s gonna do the only thing where she can feel something or maybe even punish herself for everything.

I love the way arcane writes the fight scenes for their female characters. There’s no elegant swishing or hair flipping or anything like that. It’s raw emotion. Blood. Spit. Screaming. There’s nothing pretty about it. It just feels more real.

Vi is probably punishing herself for what happened to Powder, after all Jinx herself said _Silco thinks he created Jinx [...] He didn't, you did_ not to mention that, as incoherent as that bargain that she offered Vi during the dinner (Kill Caitlyn to recover Powder) it now may seem like that was her last chance to make it all right. Caitlyn probably went full on _Hunt Jinx at any cost_ Now Vi is drowning herself in hopes of ending herself or being terminated because she has no one to fight for and no one to support her.

Important things in this clip: 1. Vi progressively wears more black makeup as more and more of herself dies away. She even covers up her back tattoo with it eventually, which was symbolic of her desire to get back to her sister. 2. The fights slowly progress from wins to losses. 3. Her bar buddy is one of the guys that was on Caitlyn’s Strike Team with her. Eventually she pushes him away too and we don’t see him at the end of the video. 4. She hallucinates Caitlyn behind banner that looks to have a symbol on them that is a combination of the Noxian and Kirraman family crest. Suggestive of where Piltover might be at the time. 5. (A little more obvious) Jinx is betting on Vi in her fights and keeping tabs on her the whole time…she still cares.
