While I would love more stories in this world, in my experience the stories with a closed preplanned narrative arc tend to be the more complete and satisfying ones so I'm glad they are deciding to tell a closed story where even the main characters could realistically die and plot threads closed rather than trying for some comic book style 'keep it going for ever' thing 👍

I don't respect it. There are certain protections/benefits shows get depending on their union when getting into a season 2 and beyond. And depending on if Netflix classified this as a "season 2" or a "part 2" they may be screwing the cast and crew (mostly crew, of course) out of additional pay just like they did with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. I knew people who worked on it and Netflix is notorious for doing this. At this point, until they earn any good will back, I'll assume malicious intent.

It's better for a show to be passionately thought out with a planned story than just continuing for the sake of it 2. The creators have stated multiple times that they are already exploring different stories within the universe. A ruling in the council would not have solved a century long struggle. I bet that if Cait and Vi had kissed in the first season, we wouldn't even be getting a second one. I don't know why but it seems that whenever there are sapphic protagonists, it's as if suddenly the show "isn't worth it" and it gets cancelled. It was like that with many shows and it's a trend that seemingly won't go away. For some reason even showing straight sex is fine, but the moment two women kiss and/or end up romantically involved it suddenly becomes "not fine" and people run to cancel it.

Ambessa is clearly positioning herself to take over Piltover, either directly or as a protectorate that she can use to mass-produce Hex-Tech for her armies. She’s got the military strength, she’s got the Casus Belli, Piltover’s leadership has been either wiped out or gutted, and all that’s left are angry and scared people wanting to rip each others throats out. She may come across as a pure warrior-queen but she’s more like a Bismarck: she plays on pre-existing divisions and conflicts in a region, positions herself as an ally to the side she wants to control, and then steps in once things go nuclear as a saviour that her new “friends” are then deeply indebted to and reliant on.

Also we know from the game's lore that **potential spoiler** Ambessa will likely succeed in taking over Piltover through political means. In the current time (Arcane takes place like 10 or so years in the past in relation to the game) a member of Metarda family is the current leader of the piltovan council, although not Ambessa herself. Connecting that with the fact that Ambessa is the next champion who will be added to the game itself I feel like the story will focus a lot around her, and it will likely use her as a means of transitioning to a new story - Rito told us that they are exploring the possibility of making future stories in the same format but about other regions of the game, and we know that before Arcane was set on Piltover they wanted to make show about Ezreal and his adventures exploring Shurima, so I think that a likely possible conclusion to the story might be Ambessa putting on a puppet ruler on the council while she herself goes off to fight in the Shuriman lands and we transition to the next storyline alongside her, or potentially the same but going into Noxus-Ionian wars

As an older sister myself Vi and powders story line absolutely destroys me. The way I see it there are two cardinal rules of sibling relationships that if broken threaten the entire relatuonship: 1) the older sibling never ever abandons the younger one 2) the younger sibling never ever stops believing the older sibling will be there for them The devastating thing about this plot line is that neither vi nor powder intend on breaking these rules. In fact they both fight hard not to and to maintain their sisterhood. But the tragic truth is that even though it wasn’t her choice Vi did abandon Powder and Powder in believing that Vi was dead did stop believing she’d be there for her. And yes as soon as she’s out of jail Vi immediately goes searching for Powder and fights hard for her and similarly after Jinx learns Vi is alive she shoots up that flair and after Vi appears Jinx really does fight to keep believing that her sister is there for her. But ultimately despite how hard the sisters fight against it, the damage is done. It fuckin breaks my heart and I can’t wait to have my heart torn up all over again in November🙌

I belive netflix only bought the streaming rights and the entire production budget came from Riot Games, which means netflix isn't in any position to cancel the project. There's a lot of comments about Mel's mom is talking to her daughter about "the council is dead". But according to the fact that Jayce and victor are still really important for the show and yet not totally "broken", I'm pretty sure that Mel's mom is talking to Jayce. Because, in the season 1 she was talking to jayce like he was in control of piltover like in this trailer where she's saying "your council". That would explain her implication in the civil war (out of revenge) and Jayce is probably the only chancellor alive now...

Vi and Jinx , since "Get Jinxed"got released, are undeniably two of the more popular overall. I think Lux/Sylas combo is the one they could go for next. Same oppersive struggle dynamic, even more lore to draw from. The only problem is the possible similarity in the story, i doubt they want to repeat themselves much. I struggle to think who's actually more popular than Jinx other than Lux. It'll probably be Noxus or Ionia. Simply by the percentage of characters from those 2 regions. But i'd love to see Irelia, Pyke for a darker vibe, Samira, Darius, Diana & Leona, even Ixtali or Shuriman characters ... there are plenty to choose from, even though they are not as popular. I think it heavily depends on the vibe they want to get from the series.

The plan is to do multiple shows in the same universe. They have many very good options for what to do next and the larger story of Runeterra will go on for a very long time. But it took Marvel a VERY long time before it got old doing the same thing so I still think this is a good direction to take this.

These 2 cities have more than enough characters to have gone on way too long and I'm glad they chose not to. I've also remembered that the stories in League of Legends are also mostly separate from each other. So even in a shared universe we're not going to have the same characters over and over like in Marvel. It's been years since I've played or kept up with the lore but I don't think any of these characters will be popping up again.

@@Confron7a7ion7 yeah exactly. all of the regions are very different and apart from each other, so chars rarely overlap. def not like marvel for sure. works better this way too imo, even tho it clearly requires more effort, all self contained. not sure wdym about breaking bad tho lol, the series is pretty much as good as you can get in terms of character development. for all of the others, fair enough. They did have to rewrite and retroactively flesh out a lot of the lore about jinx, vi, and the region's, so thats sort of what I mean w the "extra effort" required to take it out from the game, cuz they did rework a lot of aspects of it to be better adapted on-screen.

actually I never write YT comments, but man I've never been really excited to see something in while now, but Arcane is just different - especially the first season gave me some kind of feeling I've never really experienced before watching anything else. Not only because I used to play the game, which you don't even have to know too, but the world they came up with, the character studies they built and the fact that no one was left behind really makes it special to me - it is so rich in detail, the music and dialogue (also the voice actors) is amazing + the animators are going freaking crazy in this show damn - it instantly reminds me of the part where ekko and jinx fight on the bridge (with denzel curry rapping over) - giving me chills when ekko just could't hurt his 'friend' while seeing her bleeding on the ground - love to you guys for making all this happen and not coming up with some real life action garbage no one was looking forward too - I loved every part of season one, especially the desicion of characters you put in the show - all respect to you finding the perfect tune and style everyone is so hyped about today - even for no League players - thanks to all creators for trusting some ideas which Christian Linke and Alex Yee had in mind and making all this possible over these years! love

If you ARE disappointed by the mere 2 seasons, just know that Riot pulled this shit together off of basic character design relations and stories whose arcs they've largely already written, and they have about 50 more of these kinds of stories in the holster, and the people doing the animations that make this show look unique is the same studio that has been making these stories with Riot for like 10 years before they actually made a fully fledged show. So in other words, with the success of this show, you're probably going to see more League of Legends stories become shows or maybe even movies, significantly better ones even than this, something like MCU. This is not even close to the "Iron Man" or "Infinity Wars" of League of Legends stories. I could even see Riot creating an entirely unique set of characters just to make original stories for something bigger like this in the future.
