I love that the animator decided to show Mel's full face when she says "Why? Why did you do it?" That shift in emotion would've been hidden by her hands, and it hits so much harder when we can see her face and the downturn of her lips from holding back tears.

This progression reel really examplifies how much effort goes into these shots... The scene was written so well, then the amazing voice work is recorded by true artists, then its brought to life through the animator's absolutely amazing acting abilities, techincal skills and artistic vision. Together, the performance becomes something classic that will be marveled at decades down the line. Brilliant.
