I would've never thought to use styrofoam for electricity, that's gonna help so much for the game I'm working on

Fun right? Anything that causes friction can work in this context. I find electrostatic plastics (the thing harder one) to be great too. Have fun playing with it!

Hi Cedar! Fun to read that it inspired you in a similar way that those listed examples in the description inspired me. Thank you for letting me know.

The snow foley is so neat.. Nice to see an alternative to the corn startch!

Thanks, it works well right? I think processing does some heavy lifting but even when I first heard it was wanting to try and make it into snow. Something about those paper strips sounding similar already.

That staff sweetener is so cool holy sh*t, how did you make that?
@matthewflorianz10 ай бұрын
Layering and automation mostly. The main sound is in the Foley bit at the end. Metal coil taken from a measuring tape. Produces those swirly metal zippies. Then the FX chain adds the weight and some of the movement. Hope that helps.

any idea what the " long-form-plugin-chain!" is? twitter link no available :(
@matthewflorianz_gameaudio Жыл бұрын
Hi, no I didn’t realise he had left twitter (as it seems). Shame, many talented contributors were scattered on the winds last year (gamedev mastodon is a landing site for some). He is also still here on You Tube www.youtube.com/@Jtols/videos

cool but something about it was really off , there was no explosion or harsh sounds only soft sounding effects which made it really not powerfull. add some hits with distortion and more to the chain might make the big boom ive been waiting for more pleasingly satisfying
@matthewflorianz_gameaudio Жыл бұрын
Agreed, non of that is there. I stuck fairly close to the storytelling of the show: The character is mysterious and distant but not malevolent. That’s why I choose rounder sounds and non transient presence. Anything else would tell a different story, probably equally valid, but not the direction I was getting from the visuals.
