When the story began, couldn’t see how Vi became the Piltover Enforcer. How she could abandon Zaun for the people that had hurt her so deeply. Then this scene happened, Jinx cutting off everyone but Caitlyn, ruining Vi’s last chance at redemption, and traumatizing her deeper than Piltover ever could, and I understood. Vi created Jinx. And in this scene, Jinx created the Enforcer. They are each other’s origin story.

You can actually go back to episode 3, 'The Base Violence Necessary for Change', and see the moment that Jinx was created. In that last scene, when Silco is hugging Powder, and all you can see of Powder is her eye, which is purple. Powder's eyes were grey, Silco's Jinx's eyes were blue, but our Jinx's eyes are purple.

No, Powder's eyes were blue as well. Her natural eye color is blue, blue eyes can just sometimes look grey depending on the lighting (and vice versa). The reason why her eyes looked purple in that final scene in ep3 is because of the red light from the fire mixed with the blue pigmentation in her eye. Red + blue = purple. But yes, it was foreshadowing how she would become Jinx.

Having watched Arcane in multiple different languages, you really start to appreciate the english voice actor for Jinx a LOT in this scene. No other voice actor in the different languages nails the "You never left, I always heard you..." and so on lines. This broken, almost about to cry sounding voice really gets me every single time I've watched it. The swedish voice actor probably comes closest to how good the english is.

Everyone sees that as condemnation of Vi leaving Powder to regain her composure, that may be part of it but Vi was no more a 'good sister' than Silco was a 'good father'. Vi's the one who taught Powder that strength is violence, problems are solved with violence. Vi instilled in her a violent hatred for the social order. Vi encouraged her to become a bomber. What does Vi tell a ten year old Powder when she complains her Monkey Bombs don't work? "They will." Jinx was always there, as a pre-teen she's putting nails in bombs.

I think Vi single biggest mistake was letting Powder keeping the gems. I mean sure she was technically not suppose to know what they are. But concidering that the explosion at the workshop wa sblue, and then Powder shows up with glowing blue gems and say she found them at the workshop should have been a red flag for Vi.

I think the key part of this scene at least in the way i interpret it is that jinx isnt telling vi that she created her out of blame. She wants vi to love jinx and not powder. Vi thinks jinx is blaming her because she views jinx as a problem, but jinx was explaining to her that vi is the one that made jinx, and it should be jinx she loves and not powder. Jinx is pointing out the irony that silco would accept her for who she is but vi, the person that made her, wont. The last thing she wants to hear from vi is “im sorry”. “Im sorry” means vi still wont accept jinx. When silco’s entire plans go to shit because of jinx, when he gets killed by jinx, he says “your perfect”. Its at this moment when jinx for the first time in her life realizes what true love is. Its at this moment when she realizes that she can never get this from vi. Silco, like vander in the end would throw his dreams and ideals away for the person he loved most. Vi couldn’t do that. None of this to say that vi is in any way guilty, her inability to blindly accept jinx’s path of death and destruction is undeniably heroic. The beauty and tragedy of arcane is that each character has a reason for being who they are. Each character is the villain in someone else’s story, yet since each character has a reason to be who they are, there are no true heroes and villains. Just a bunch of broken people struggling to survive in a society that has abandoned them.

No one in particular can be blamed for "creating" Jinx. Just like in real life her mental illness was the result of an unfortunate mix of genetic predisposition, trauma and environmental factors. The real problem here is that she sees herself as a monster and a "jinx" because of the way people usually react to her psychotic behavior and because ot the horrible consequences of her self-sabotaging actions. Vi just gets all the blame because she is the person closest to Powder and because Powder in her delusional and paranoid state is unable to see that things are simply not that straightforward.

Vi was keeping Powder together once Vi left and Powder thought she abandoned her that's when she turned into Jinx staying with Silco is what turned her into a monster.

​No it was Violet who created Jinx. Powder clearly had abandonment and attachment issues from a young age after her parents died. After Violet became hostile towards Powder and walked away even after begging her to come back, the safety net was gone and she unraveled. Jinx was created to keep the innocence of Powder safe while Violet was gone. She latched herself to the only person showing sympathy and compassion after her attachment left which was Slico... The only reason Jinx is hostile and violent is to keep Silco happy so he never leaves her like her sister did. She basically lives to please him. Once Violet came back her perspective of attachment was distorted between the two of them thus this tea party scene where she kills Silco realizing he was forcing her to chose him over Violet even though he embraced Jinx. Even in the fight scene with Ekko, Powder clearly came out because the fighting in her side looked more playful until Ekko started punching her in the face. At this point Jinx is overshadowing Powder to keep her gaurd up since most people see her as a threat due to her past actions and Violent is the only one that looks past these actions but cant fully tame Jinx's wall which is another thing that creates conflict between the two sisters.

I disagree with Jinx here. Vi’s actions that night may have been the catalyst for Jinx, but Vi was far from the only reason. If anyone, Silco has more blame, because it’s his fault that tragedy happened in the first place.

I think Jinx meant it differently. In my opinion, and from the things she said, it seemed like she was saying that Vi was who pushed her to be strong when she felt weak. I think she associates Powder with weakness and Jinx with strength. She means that the memory of Vi was a driving force for her to gain strength. In her memory, Vi pushed her to keep trying with her monkey bombs, encouraged her, and made her feel that there was strength within her. That was what made 'Jinx' not the single 'spur of the moment' incident that she had with her sister years ago. Not denying that this incident caused her plenty of trauma but that was the weakest moment for Powder and Vi. Then, she thought her sister died, of course, hurtful things loved ones do leave their marks in your life but people don't hang on to it because now that they are gone, you think of the good times more. As they say, distance makes the heart fonder.

@George Young Bit Vi love never was conditional even now with all Jinx has done to hurt Vi intentional or accidentally Vi LOVES her. Is Jinx whose love is conditional. Vi has to love her over everything, even herself or Jinx is going to plainly harm her full of rage. Jinx is just looking for a scapegoat and her sister who feels so guilty for a single moment of lashing in pain is the easier target. Jinx wasn't magically created after the explotion, were years of mental sickness and many people including Powder who created her. But for Jinx is easier just blame Vi (and ignore all Vi own trauma and suffering) that examine the complex situation. She needs someone to blame and needs it now and Vi is feeling guilty anyway.

Jinx told Vi to choose whether she should sit on the Powder chair or the Jinx chair but it was never a choice, the only correct answer is Jinx, that's why she said "I thought you could love me like you use to" because Vi only loves Powder and the entire time was pushing Jinx to "wake up" and remember who she was. If her love was unconditional she wouldn't have sold out "Jinx" to the council (the only time she ever referred to her as Jinx). In her mind they are separate people and can't accept the fact that Jinx is who she is now, that's why Jinx calls her out by saying "You changed too" because she realised that Vi's love for her is no longer unconditional.

As much as a sympathize with Jinx, i also always felt incredibly bad for Vi. It's not entirely her fault Jinx is this way, Jinx is broken and so is Vi. I mean Vi is literally the parent figure in their sibling relationship, she was shouldering a huge responsibility when she was at her early teenage years, there's no way she's going to be prefect at it. Not to mention the trauma she was also having and her not being the most intelligent and wise person.

The thing is, Powder never apologized. A lot of people want Vi to be the one to apologize, but she did the best thing she could do. Living with severe anger issues isn't easy, let me tell you. Vi didn't make Jinx, as much as people say she did. Even as much as Jinx thinks Vi did, the reality is that she has always been Jinx, but Silco unleashed it. He built it up for his own. And yes, Silco never blamed Jinx because he has no right to. He helped create Jinx so blaming her wouldn't make sense, instead it would be his fault. Why should Vi apologize to Powder? For getting angry that Powder killed her 2 brothers and father? It wasn't that traumatizing for Powder, their deaths, that is, because she wasn't really close with any of them except for Vi. Could you really use the fact that Vi didn't come up to Powder like, "Oh hey buddy!! Your monkey bomb worked! I'm so proud, I saw the explosion! It blew up EVERYTHING. Even our whole family but that's okay!!! 😍" against her? No, everyone would be angry. Nobody has an issue with Jinx not being stable about her emotions, especially sadness, but they always have an issue with Vi having really uncontrollable anger issues which causes her to not know how to express the anger. I'm not particularly blaming Powder/Jinx, but Vi doesn't need to apologize for reacting in a angry way for a situation like that.

Jynx is pathetic for me, she jsut blames everyone for her problems and espect empathy and love from people and she is just not like that. if she wants good things for her never expect this from other people, be like that, always counting with your own good principles, thats enough for a good life. the righters did a good job, but i have 0 pitty for Jyns, shes just a coward, Vi thought is the true goat here, best of the series.

I understand what you mean, but keep in mind that Jinx was a child when things went wrong. She basically grew up only with the protection of Vi who also was a child and, as such, didn't give her the education she actually needed to mature. The only time Jinx tried to help the others everything went wrong accidentally killing them, then get punched by Vi (the one she felt protection from) and then getting adopted by Silco who grew her up to become a terrorist. So basically Jinx is a victim aswell just like everybody else

@@giulizpaviz6381 I agree with your statement, but your making it seem like Powder didn't do anything wrong and Vi hit her and reacted the way she did for no reason. Also, Vi didn't punch her. She slapped her. Trust me, if Vi punched Powder hard like that, Powder would be on her way to the light. Could you really blame Vi for getting angry at the situation? Vi also did have the best education because of their environment so it's not her fault that Powder also wasn't educated. Vi tried her best to teach Powder, but she had a hard time, considering the fact that they weren't allowed on Piltover grounds, where all the advanced technology lay. Yes, Vi protected and encouraged Powder, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have her own flaws. Just as Jinx, Vi has a hard time dealing with specific emotions. With Jinx it's often sadness and past moments, whilst with Vi it's her anger which takes control of her body at times when she doesn't know how to react. It's what she's been taught to do, out of the little things she does know. It makes sense for Powder to feel like she must prove herself to the crew, due to underestimation, but her sister did warn her to stay away for a completely valid reason, yet people still blame Vi for the mess that happened. Powder didn't technically HAVE to go with Silco. She chose to. Growing up, she never knew the full story of that day, so she assumed that Vi left her, although that isn't the whole truth. (get what I did there? like the horror movie on Netflix called The Whole Truth. sorry for this) Vi and Marcus were the only ones who knew the whole and complete truth, but then Marcus died to Jinx. Now it is only Vi who knows what really happened, and soon Caitlyn will be told probably also.

@@user-nc3px6hn4n I didn't say that Powder didn't to anything wrong, in fact I pointed out that the only time she helped her friends she also killed them. I don't blame Vi either, she's a victim of circumstances just like every character of Arcane, I just said that Vi didn't gave her sister a good education, but because she was in fact a teen (she was thinking of doing a good education on Powder). However I basically told by Powder prospective why she became the way she is.

I know what your saying, and I agree with the majority of it, but you can't tell ones perspective, especially when their perspective doesn't contain the complete situation.

from an objective standpoint, i agree. however, although many of her actions are without any excuse, it seems she has some VERY severe form of PTSD that has warped her mind completely, and it probably extends to severe schizophrenia. it's just a tragedy, really
