Jinx’s dynamic and relationship with her fatherly figures, ie Vander and Silco, were truly tragic and extremely nuance because they were both accidentally killed by her which truly says something about her introspective conflict and that scene where Silco sits beside Vander’s memorial just makes it a butt tonne more painful as they both had the same intentions of protecting her but her mental psychosis was the true antagonist that consumed her and inevitably corrupted her mind of clarity and judgement.

I truly believe, that Silco is a very well written character and I was deeply moved at the end. But he was a very egoistic person, who caused every bad thing in the first place with kidnapping Vander. So pls don't say, that he never betrayed anyone. Jinx needed healing and Silco wasn't able to give her that. He destroyed the family she had. He lied to Jinx cause he knew that Jinx would follow Vi, if she had a chance (earlier on). He ordered Marcus to let Vi disappear, so he could have Jinx for himself...I dont see your heroic and noble picture of him at all. I am shocked, that so many people see a hero in a figure like Silco. I can empathize with him, yes. But not sympathize.
@Attya-y2y3 жыл бұрын
@@tvolz9749 On the one hand, I don’t find it possible to agree with Silco’s methods. There is no excuse for drugging kids with shimmer and using them, like he did with Deckard, one example among many. Threatening to kill Marcus’ daughter? Can’t be fine with that either. On the other hand, there are sides of him that were also good. That’s the thing with multi-layered characters, they are not fully good or fully evil. He sincerely loved and cared for Jinx, that’s one thing. He had a dream of getting freedom for Zaun and did whatever he could to achieve that, that wasn’t an egoist dream even though we can’t agree with his methods of course. I fully agree that we shouldn’t start painting his character as an heroic good guy though. That’s taking the emotional attachment too far. I love Silco’s character, probably my favourite character in the show, for the multi-layered and deep personality and humanity, but I still consider him an overall « bad » person based on his actions since season 1.
@MrLittlelawyer3 жыл бұрын
@@Attya-y2y I'm starting to see it differently, Silco wasn't a bad man. Silco understood what a lot of people today refuse to understand about the world today. Excuse me for bringing reality into the discussion, but this series has definitely made me reflect on the real world a lot. For example, we decry the Taliban's rule of Afghanistan in the media, and the slave trade of small Afghan girls, the destruction of basic human rights - the slaughter of singers and intellectuals, and so much more. Yet the free nations of the world never had the will to crush the culture of the nation which created those horrors under an iron heel - like what was done with the nationalist culture in Japan through Hiroshima and Nagasaki, or what was done with Nazi Germany's attitudes at Dresden and Hamburg or the Soviet rape of the east. Japan and German are both healthy countries today, free and prosperous. Afghanistan, where all anybody ever talked about was civilian casualties (despite the fact that civilian casualties were, and are, worse under Taliban rule), has just gone back to being what it was before, destroying decades of progress for the people there. Lasting peace has no price. If total destruction of a terrible nation's culture is what is required - wrecking their cities, wiping out their generations, putting everything that they ever know and love to the sword - to buy you and those oppressed by them lasting peace and freedom. Well, the past tells us it is a price worth paying. The attitude that people like Vander have, while perhaps appearing wise, does nothing but allow those who are willing to be cruel to prosper and advance their own causes. It is a sleeping attitude. Ekko's mindset is perhaps the best balance of them both, but you can't fault Silco for his own methods - they are methods people have used in the real world to great effect and given freedom and prosperity to more than a few good people.
@tommenno3 жыл бұрын
Silco was a realist who loved his people and his brother, but knew that to earn a place at the table, he had to do the hard things, make the hard choices, and do terrible, brutal things to create the change that plitover refused to even discuss. They would never give them a place of parity, they would never see Zaun as equals, and so they needed to be bent into line. I really, honestly thing killing Vander was the hardest thing he ever did and the thing he never wanted to really do, regardless of their differing stances. He took in jinx as the last part of Vander he could keep for himself, and loved her as much as he was able to love anything.

@joshgreiner25993 жыл бұрын
What blows me away is how all of the misunderstandings that contribute to the tragedy of Jinx are all... understandable. So often plots like this feel incredibly contrived and could be easily solved by characters simply not being stupid, or just communicating clearly. For instance, *spoilers* when Vi says "we can leave forever" in ep 9, you can see for a brief moment how Jinx interprets that, keying in on the 'leave forever' part of it. Many shows would just have that misunderstanding throw Jinx off the deep end, but here Jinx immediately addresses it, telling the voices in her head (probably Milo) that "She didn't mean it like that." Another example is when *Spoilers* Jinx and Vi are re-united before the firelight fight. Almost the first thing out of Vi's mouth is that she wanted to come back, but she was arrested. It's obvious she's played out how that meeting would go in her head for years, and knew what she wanted to communicate first. It addressed what was surely a huge question for Jinx, about *why* Vi never came back, quickly and clearly, removing what would have been a whole scene (or more!) in a less well written show.

This doesnt have anything to do with the music but when Silco said to the Vander statue " The boy didnt even haggle" it shook me because thats what little ekko said in the episode 2 and from that you would realize how deep the details they put in with the series

Small nitpick, but it's even episode 1. Not only is it episode 1, but it's *the first thing we hear directly about Jayce in the show.* The writing in this show is fucking phenomenal.

@@Hamzawi001 The first character trait we learn of in terms to Jayce is that he doesn't haggle. It foreshadows that Jayce won't haggle by for example giving them independence but not free Hexgate access, and indeed, he doesn't.

Well, that's a first for me. I've been tearing up for 3 weeks now and this particular piece finally made the tear fall out. I cannot believe that this (this video) is the 3rd media to ever make me shed a tear. Last time was over 5 years ago and the time before that was 19 years ago. I'm not the type to cry from almost anything, no matter how tragic. Usually, if anything, it's because of something happy. I'm an extremely positively emotional person. But this melancholy right now... I get more and more emotional the longer time passes and the more I rewatch, listen and think about the series. Especially the music. This has never happened to me before. I was working yesterday (I'm an animator) and it was just so weird as I work and listen to the original "What Could Have Been" and my lip just quivers non-stop for so long. I just stopped listening to the loop because it made it almost impossible to work. Arcane is the best series I've ever seen, bar none. Thank you for this Samuel. It's a great piece you made here 😥 EDIT (20 minutes later): I just completely broke down while getting food in the kitchen. This is too much ;n;

My heart hasn't experienced such intense feelings of connection, heartbreak, and raw emotion for a fictional character before but every fiber of my being just wants to hug jinx and help her find a place of happiness. This arrangement amplified those intense feelings to a point I couldn't take, so here I am tearing up. I never cry when watching things but I can't stop listening to this heartachingly beautiful song and I keep replaying the final crescendo as she fires the cannon. Samuel Kim, this rendition is complete godlike awesomeness and like Arcane, it is a true masterpieces in the purest form.

I love Jinx's character so much for how brilliant she is regardless of her trauma. If she had grown up in Piltover, I could only imagine that she'd have been Heimer's student as well. I see how broken she is, however I suppose this being fantasy, I can't help imagining a happy older Pow-Pow would have looked a lot like a luckier Sky with a crush on Ekko. Good Lord Samuel / Riot, I never comment on KZbin.

I really believe that moment was when Powder died and Jinx was truly born. She knew she was no longer the scared and helpless kid, that her sister was no longer the same as she used to be, that in the time they were apart both became, almost like what Vi said to Cait, Oil and Water. I really need the image and the affects to be my desktop wallpaper, if you are kind enough to share them pls let me know.

It was just a day at work when I was listening to this song. Out of nowhere, I got a notification that it was the anniversary of my little sister's death. I'm not really one to cry at funerals, but I was always told that I had a delayed response to this kind of thing. This day only served to prove that point. I just couldn't work anymore. I broke down into tears as her face continued to pop up in my head. I had to go sit in a corner away from anyone and just call my mother. She asked me what was going on and all I did was just send her this song. She knew what day it was and knew instantly what was happening to me. I stayed on the phone with her talking to her as I couldn't bring myself to turn the song off of repeat. I just kept listening as the tears fell from my face. Even my coworkers and my boss didn't bother me the moment they saw me trying to hide from the world at that moment. This is a beautiful song no matter how it is composed. The lyrics are perfect. The scene that went with this is perfect. I cannot stop myself when this song comes up. I just let it play and let the music have its way. Thank you @SamuelKimMusic for this arrangement.

On the edge of a jagged cliff, a vast, dark ocean churns beneath a stormy sky. Thunderstorms crackle in the distance, briefly illuminating the scene with harsh, cold light. In the foreground, a ruined castle sits abandoned, its towers crumbling and overtaken by vines. The wind whips through the dead forest, where twisted trees reach toward the sky. A faint, eerie moonlight filters through the swirling clouds, casting long shadows across the desolate landscape. Despite the grand scale of the scenery, an overwhelming sense of melancholy and solitude fills the air, as if the land itself mourns.
