Few things 1- HAHAHAHAH! I LOVE you going through the greek creation myths for Centaurs! xD it was AMAZING! xD 2 - You can play a Centaur OR a Minotaur through the printing - Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica - They are a medium creature. 3 - I played a Centaur Bard back in the day. She acted a bit like the party mount (At the time, there wasn't the medium creature restriction on the race). My favorite memory from that game was when we traveled through a dungeon. It was ether Kobolds or Goblins - we'll say goblins for now. Ether way, they were on the other side of a massive iron gate. They were climbing on the grating of the gate SO! The pyromaniac wizard with multiple personality disorder decided that he was going to cast a LOT of fire spells through the metal, causing it to kill a few of the goblins and super heating the metal to the point that the others fell off. THEN!!! My 2100 lbs horse butt comes up and I KICK the thing down. This super heated metal grate falls down on top of the goblins, causing them bludgeoning and fire damage. But no... That wasn't all. We had to go that way and these poor guys couldn't get out from under the gate in time. The Barbarian jumped on my back was the first person I brought to the other side of the warm grate (Hooves helped avoid the heat) As I walked across, I started to create goblin jelly. The next pass through, the wizard started to cast some fire cantrips at the ones still BARELY hanging in there. It was BRUTAL! and amazing! Another side joke we had with Espena, the centaur bard, was that whenever ANYONE, ooc would say plop, Espena took a dump in the dungeon - because horses don't care where they poop and can keep walking as they do it. It... was an amazing campaign.

This is a really important point, Paraptorkeet! I definitely mixed up some of my Greek gods here. You and David Kleiner both fact checked me here, and it's worth viewers getting the correct info! Cheers for the help!
@s.kennedy83804 жыл бұрын
That is the most common myth, yes, but mythology is far more complex and less widely accepted than you might think. Alternate Greek myths do portray Aphrodite as Zeus’ daughter, but it is not as widely accepted as your Uranus myth. Arcane Forge would be correct; it just depends on which myth you accept as “canon” Greek mythology. Essentially, you are both right.

I think you got confused between Zeus and Uranus. Hera is Zeus’s sister and wife, and Aphrodite is Uranus’s... daughter? She was born when drops of Uranus’s blood landed in the sea. I guess that makes her Zeus’s aunt.
@chriswilder97195 жыл бұрын
Not just his blood but his special sauce as well (not sure how KZbin feels about the proper word) and I believe she came into being when Uranus castrated his father. From what I understand she stands apart from the rest of the Olympians in the sense she isn't related to Zeus as the rest are

I can’t really think of a monster that probably hasn’t already been suggested once or twice. So I think I will suggest something incredibly experimental and probably only appropriate on a very special occasion. And that is to imagine a cast for a much better D&D movie. Like Ron Pearlman as an Aasimar, Zoey Saldana as a Half-Orc or Benedict Cumberbatch as a Lizardfolk.

I'm planning to play a Centaur soon. A young centaur female who met a human hunter. Falling in love, she left her herd for him; a very difficult decision. She learnt common from him, and lived happily with him in their small hut. Yet still missing being free on the plains. But thugs came to their small hut, and hung him for loving a "freak". She rather savagely killed them when she returned from her hunt, and now roams hunting human.bandits and thugs. Lusting for more revenge, ever sad she lost her lover and her herd forever.

If the Centaurs were depicted as "nomadic wanderers without laws" then...why is this illustration being drawn wearing pieces of romanesque equipment? The romans are the largest historical example of imperialism we have, they were the polar opposite of "nomadic wanderers without laws" 😕
