I agree with you. Angela was already saying how this would be a different album than Khaos Legions, then she announces that she would leave with Alissa already as the new singer. The next day, The Agonist shown their new singer. The timing of everything was very precise, so I believe that this was on the works for a long time and they just made it public now. Honestly, this way is much better than suffering for months on the doubt of a new singer, whether the replacement will be good enough and stuff. This is how you show professionalism, people!

Michel van der Molen i agree with you that she has a nice singing voice. but i don't like arch enemy for the clean singing. i liked them because they were fucking brutal. i hope they don't change their style to match that of the agonist. that change would make the whole singer-change needless.

Well I just found out about the change. Let's just say I've been on hiatus from social networking and such. So when I caught up on Angela's facebook page--I had a freak out and "what the fuck? O.o" moment. Admittedly I'm never good with change, I'm trying to improve myself if that area. With that said, I do like this new vocalist, I love the track overall. I've been hearing Angela's vocals for the past 11 years or so (became a fan after hearing "We Will Rise"). I think I still need some time to adjust.

I still have to get used to her voice and get to know her range of vocal abilities, but I have to say with perfect honesty she is as good as Angela. Maybe I'm missing that succubean high end of fury from her voice, but that's all the critique I could mention based on what I have seen so far.

she's not as brutal as angela I don't think but that doesn't make her any worse a singer by any means. I like to give new singers around a year to really settle in to a band before I judge them but I have to say alissa has won me over very quickly

hmmm. I have followed AE and The Agonist since they both began. I like them both for different reasons. I liked AE for the guitar work, and The Agonist for the vocals. (don't get me wrong the guitar work is VERY good with them as well). I REALLY hope Arch Enemy lets Allissa use her range of vocal talents. She has so much more to offer than what this song presents. I will support, but I hope we haven't heard the last of Alissa's awesome vocal diversity and lyrical mastery.

I agree but Alissa new must of knowing what she got herself into when she went to arch enemy its there style of music. Yea OK give Alissa one or 2 vocal songs on an album instead of instrumentals maby as long as they don't change arch enemy's style all together then I'd say it be a good move :)

I agree, she's an incredible talented singer as well as screamer, but in The Agonist I felt the cleans were kinda out of place and almost just thrown in there to appeal to a wider audience. At least I found that the case in the latest Agonist album. It almost took you out of the heaviness which I'm not a fan of, but she's still an amazing singer nonetheless.
