I'm not trolling, sad to see that whenever people have different opinion from the rest of the flock, all of a sudden they're "haters' or trolls" And my thing with Alyssa is that she looks like a fucking groupie, no natural thing about her whatsoever (the dyed hair, the overdone glam/goth make-up... when did you ever see that on Angela, who was down-to-the-core honest & metal?!) and her vocal performances are flat as a board. Not to mention she completely lacks the ferocity that Angela shows on stage, the fact that she fails to imitate the shrieks that Angela does in certain parts of some songs, for further emphasis on emotion, she can only dream of reaching Angela's low-pitch growls... and is overall just a pin-up girl. Where's the "Pure Fucking Metal" attitude?! This isn't a goddamn Pokemon show!
@Lambofgod990410 жыл бұрын
And if you are basing her vocal talents off of 2-3 songs you clearly don't deserve to voice your opinion. While both her and Angela are slightly different, I'd way rather see arch enemy continue than disband.

What I get from this song is that it's an anthem for those of us that were bullied when we were younger. I don't know if that was the intention behind the lyrics or not, but that's what I got from it. If I have that correct, that damn what a great anthem it is. I wish songs like this had been around when I was a little kid. I mean, you see people like this and they just give off that "You don't want to f**k with us" vibe. They took back the power and that feels great. I am a rarity in that my childhood bully came to me as an adult and apologized. You know what I did? Forgave him on the spot - because holding a grudge would only make me bitter - it wouldn't matter to him. But in my mind that's what the bigger man does in the end. Regardless, just love this song. Wish I'd been able to see the big picture when I was a kid and it wouldn't have mattered so much.

Scott N at what point does she start 'singing'? I've checked several songs now and I really like the music but it seems that's the only kind of vocals they do. do they have any songs in which anyone in the band actually sings?
@scottn3228 жыл бұрын
Dogwood Tales It depends on your definition of singing, I guess. You may not consider it singing, but I do, because musical styles vary in style and tone, and like all art it can be subjective. So from my point of view, yes, they do have songs where someone actually sings; all of them. If you mean where someone isn't singing in a gutteral/growling style, then no. I don't believe so.
@dogwoodtales8 жыл бұрын
Scott N I'm not saying it isn't art, but to me that's not 'singing'. To me rap may be art, but it isn't 'singing' either. I guess I'm just old school.that way lol. thanks for the reply!

Arch Enemy has only been getting better with their female singers. Sadly, I used to feel Arch Enemy was somewhat boring til Angela came along, and I'm even glad that Alissa is here now, even though I prefer her in The Agonist. Alissa has so much talent with her variety of vocals, unfortunately, Arch Enemy only uses one style, which I believe is restricting Alissa from using her full potential. Everyone cries so much because the singer changed, but it's not some random person, since both singers knew each other and Angela requested that Alissa take her place.

I saw arch enemy and night wish at Wembley. The cows was so fucking dead for arch enemy. It was actually disappointing to see. I love this band and they weren't given any respect at all by some of the night wish fans.
@GamerDaPro9 жыл бұрын
Steve Atkin they aren't disrespectful, even though both Nightwish and Arch Enemy are metal, their style, and audience are really different. I know a lot of people who went to see Nightwish only , and had to wait through a gig of a different style. I personally liked both, and didn't stop jumping and headbanging till the end, but I also understand the people who only saw Arch Enemy because they had to.
