Whenever i try Fedora it's full of headaches, usually because they don't want you to use any proprietary software. You have to spend time fixing all their BS and then it all breaks up again on the next update where it "fixes" all your changes. It feels as restrictive as windows.

Yes, I don't mind testing fedora out, but not on actual hardware, will in VM for now on, but it's not a bad system, I just don't think i'm the target user for it.

I got sick of Arch after using it over a year... I had problems and breakage all the time, it was so annoying. I've been using Fedora full time since 38, and running the 41 Beta now, and its always been great. I've had a few times on the Beta now with weird update conflicts and stuff, so I just ignore them a bit, and update later... but thats because its BETA for a reason... when I did 40 Beta I had similar things happen and then it was fine after full release. I agree GNOME is too limited... it has stupid design decisions. Its not very good... I stick with KDE too.

Gnome is limited but it lets you customize it a lot by using extensions. Very easy method.

Gnome is all about productivity. You get used to its workflow and everything will be good. Also desktop icons are just a bad idea. Instead vomiting those icons on your beautiful wallpaper and ruining it, you simply put in the effort and put your files and apps in organized locations. Unsurprisingly, Windows users are the worst at managing their desktop. They vomit everything into their desktop and in a few months it looks DISGUSTING.

@@CRYPTiCEXiLE those can be added to the dash. That also results in a cleaner look. There's also the possibility to add shortcuts to certain directories to the top bar. Gnome has extensions available for such stuff.
