Why we need piercing stacks if it only applies after dealing dmg with one blow? and before next one blow the piercing buff already gone... The others skills are reduced to 80% dmg so piercing stacks wont help other skills neither.. So how the nova and talents for frequency better helps the oneblow?

Without Nova, Low haste and frequency will only get you to 25-35 stacks of Piercing while having Nova and frequency can get you to 35-45 as I have tried several times, and the Piercing stacks has a separate formula for One Blow as the description says and is capped at 150 which is so hard to obtain. It says "Increases the next instance of this true dmg" It feels like a hidden mechanic but it is just the Piercing stacks, so Haste is really valuable for our stats.

I’m a low spender lvl 60 mage in global 3, peaked at 290m DPS and which is on par/higher than basically every other class at my range. Your comments about the skill timing setup not being good is flat out not true because while it is true that at the end u only have 2 seconds of nova left, this is followed by the next nova and 5 seconds before your one blow. This means no matter what u do you’ll get 7 seconds of nova stacking for one blow. After u set up the timing in the run u can auto it for the entire run now, just turn off pet and press it when u see your overture at 1-3 seconds depending on demon hound stars, which is far easier than what you are showing (turning off auto time to time) and is the ONLY thing u need to do. Haste is a luxury stat for one blow and I’ve found a lot of success even while running 20% haste. Aim to use at least 2 cdmg moves and get crit det up to 50/45 which is when I started to see really good success and consistency (was doing 120m dps and 80m dps at worst). Only after u get your crit and determination on par then you worry about haste. Mages cc2 need the most work of any class but once you optimize it you can absolutely compete with others. In my personal experience I have never been outdamaged by any other class in my power range while I have a full f2p friend doing super well too (100+m dps).

You mean the post at 6:38? Well, I do tried it and it's not doing good than what I have exampled on my video, many of us in the community disagrees with it, not only me. First of all, you start the battle at 150 stacks. The post says on Number 5. Press Pet and Press Overture... So, you don't wait for your Crit and Deter to trigger after activating the Ulti of Demon Hound? Then you missed the 90% additional damage then. Remember the first One Blow is 150 stacks so you should make the most out of it. About removing the Auto of your Demon Hounds ulti, you're correct about it! It should've been that way and is much easier!

@ yes u press the pet about 1s before u press overture, of course u get the crit and determination for your one blow. I am aware u start with 150 stacks and in theory u can burst at the very start of the battle but then you’d have to use the second overture quick as well to fit both in the awakening and then only set up the skill timings from the second time onwards, its viable sure but from testing it results in no damage difference and u basically get the same results

I think the devs build or create mages with multiple enemies in mind. thats why they dont want to buff it for single target.

​​@@L1GHT09I've extensively tested both builds and have to conclude that the dps build is not only more consistent but also stronger. I measured the dmg output over 30 and 60 seconds in dragon with both builds. Average over 30 tries: DPS30 = 44M/sec DPS60 = 42M/sec Burst30 = 33M/sec Burst60 = 28M/sec And it's probably getting worse the longer the fight last. I really want to know why so many think the burst is stronger?

@@steelmanning_skeptic6385 I think it's the consistency, the Burst is heavily reliant on Lucky crit, if the One Blow goes lucky crit it's massive, but if not its the weakest coz you will have yo wait for another 13 seconds. So yeah, that's my analysis. I'm using the domain build right now, i find it better.

After I got to about 45/45 crit det the worst runs of one blow was basically doing the peaks of my domain. I even run one blow in waves of horror now because it is that much better. U can sacrifice haste to about 20% for more crit and det.

@@markanthonysalazar623 I do agree! with the New rift14 our strongest Mage in the guild only manages to do 120m+ dps while other Archers and Assassin on our guild can do 200m. Very sad

I compared these DPS through Dragon Ranking. Example: I base the classes on a power of 600k for CC1. then I check each of these classes ranking on Dragon. If I can recall Rangers with that power can reach Rank 80ish, Assassins are much higher with 75+ while Mages are 85+, why I chose lower powers? because they are f2p to low spenders and are much easier to compare. So I don't just spit something without data.

@ nahhh couldn’t have been right data. Cus I can see cc1 from na1-16 currently and I can look at dragon both sin and mages was byyyy far the highest damage over all xD from whales to ftp but also using ftp is a very poor example because a lot of ftp just play for fun(nothing wrong with it) and there for their builds be absolutely horrible. The real testing is within the dolphins. Care enough to build right and do good but not rich enough for whale. Dolphins are what makes/breaks a community imo

They got the rank coz they know how to build, that's some kind of a disrespect imo just to prove you are right and I'm wrong. Now if you want to compare between Dolphins, we can still check the top 50 Rankings on Flame Seal Dragon(CC1) -Ranger RANK 45-50 = 22M (1.5m ave. powers currently) -Sorc RANK 48-50 = 15.8M (1.6m ave. powers currently) If you have a friend in SEA S1 go tell them to check if I just made these rankings. You say "couldn't have been the right data", I can also say that easily without proper research. I won't include whales on Top 10 because their DPS is based on money.

@ I promise you ftp-low spenders don’t know how to build bro. There’s a reason they’re in the discord asking the whales what/how to build. I’m a whale my self and I spend hours upon hours helping lowers with builds and even go inside their accts and build for them so many mistakes it makes no sense. I’ve helped lowers scores jump up by 300ms+. Everyone knows the best cc1 is scholar/blade. Sure if you wanna claim something is more ftp friendly to play or build then by all means but even then once you put in a little effort and money cc1 scholar is nuts.. personally and the stats show
