Many first-play QBs run just to get their 'feel' for the game. With that leaky O-Line allowed pressure on Arch, maybe that's what Arch needed. "So you linemen aren't going to block, eh? Fine." Of course, Arch would also hold onto the ball for some sacks and pressures, too.

Baxter was the starting rb for Texas, but tore his acl before the season started.

That takes out experience from Texas' power-run game but, even then, CJ didn't have a lot of game experience in that. Ability, yes, but experience with THIS o-line, no. Gibson hopefully will be The Power Back in the 2nd half of the season. But freshman Page showed some power, some juke and a whole lotta speed. I hope we eventually see games where Blue vs. Page have speed-demon races thru the middle or up the sidelines. Then challenge the wide-receiver reverses. I am pleased to see Blue slice thru the small gaps that run-blockers give him - he'll never blast open holes, but neither did Sayers, Payton, Eric Metcalf, Darron Spoles.

@@RoSaWa386-33 No Doubt Gibson will be the second string running back he has good enough speed and he has a thickness body wise to be able to break tackles and push through for positive yards. That's what was so great about Baxter. Wisner will help a lot too if you can ever stay healthy. But something about gifts and that I just love. Gibson has the type of ability that you need out of an SEC running back. I love Blue but as with everyone else when it comes to running back on this team unfortunately it doesn't take a lot for him to get injured either.

I thought Arch might be better then Ewers at everything but Ewers is still better at short passes and decisions. Arch has him beat on mobility and deep balls. I wish Ewers could throw deep but he just doesn't have the accuracy. Arch needs work/experience but he just might be the best to ever play at UT and that is saying a lot because I think VY is 99%.

Sark was making him do that, he wants him to get used to throwing them especially because he was consistently underthrowing. Sark used this game so they can literally practice

Those had to shake up OU's historically bad secondary, too. The threat that each possession could have 30-40 yard completions to receivers that outrun DBs might open up a lot of green-space in the middle, too. (I point out that OU's historically bad secondary didn't get sliced up by Tenn too much. In a game that OU can easily own Texas yet again, that's going to be an important step forward. Maybe more so than UGA, which might be rightfully considered Game 1 Of 2. Win that second one, and that's all that's important for playoff teams.)
