Doomguy isn't saying that Gargoyle's self-esteem is zero, but what the video description says makes it clear that he is very unhappy with his work ("another month gone, and another shitty video"), despite the fact that it is of very high quality. There's a reasonable level of being "harsh" with yourself ("this is okay, but I can do better" or "I see problems here, but I know how to fix them"), and this isn't it. It looks more like unfounded pessimism than self-critique.

Actually ... It made perfect sense. The Arch-Vile's journey went from a first world primadonna, who spent too much time on twitter, to a jaded, angry demon who had to face the realities of living in the streets, to a now broken, haunted criminal. Despite the Arch-Vile becoming hardened enough through his misadventures, something still remains of the once innocent mischievous arch-vile who only wanted to tease his zombieman friends. It's displayed in how the arch-vile hesitated and in the end, couldn't attack the zombieman shooting him. At the end of it all, the Arch-Vile decided to take out his anger at those at least partially responsible for his demise, the Mancubus and Pinky friends. But even then, flameboi ultimately knows they're just a symptom, not the cause for his mishaps. It is why despite grabbing a shotgun after being dismembered by Pinky ... He still doesn't attack them directly. Perhaps the Arch-Vile had enough of the suffering and it was his way of hoping he'd finally get to rest in peace ... But that was not to happen, as he found himself sinking instead. To be continued.

I thought this was pretty grand. I liked the callback to the Doomguy prison, the Arch-Vile’s epic journey home, his insane last stand, and the heroic return of Mancubus and his pal Pinky. It felt a little more serious than your past animations, but I liked that as it keeps things fresh. Good work!

Another month gone and now an awesome video. This one is a complete masterpiece, definitely the best of the Arch-Vile Trilogy and maybe even better than Doomguy Action. Great sound effects everywhere the whole video makes a lot of sense, it's full of fun and even the creation of the video was funny to do, especially towards the end, and the ending itself should win a reward for the most astonishing and best ending ever. Until i found a bad, confusing and terrible idea, i'm not making animations.

i dunno man, i really liked it. i just like the whole idea of using DOOM as a medium for animation at all, its SUPER creative and i think theres tons of cool stuff you can do with it. when i saw the first video in this style i was floored; i did not think it was possible to do something like this at all! it takes a lot of willpower and talent to figure all this cool stuff out, and i hope you keep making stuff in this manner, even if its *not* funny.

But not making sense is often a perk of your video. I don't have to question a giant hand killing a shotgun guy, or why I just got rickrolled because it just... fits with the sheer insanity of hellworlds like these. It's like a silent film but with DOOM, and all the signature style that comes with DOOM. I say don't let reality and continuity upset you with these videos. They aren't the strength. I definitely enjoyed it, and can respect it because of all the work that goes into it.
