A guide to the lore, inspirations, and gameplay for Valkia the Bloody - a playable character in Total War: Warhammer 3 available in the Champions of Chaos DLC. Valkia bears warriors of Norsca who die glorious deaths in battle to Realm of Chaos to fight for Khorne for all eternity. Also she's sort of the God of War's girlfriend.

Valkia is defiantly one of the coolest Chaos characters in the lore I would feel remiss however if i didn't point out that, in her novel, Valkia was by no means a virgin. She had two daughters with her husband Deron in an emotionally/sexually abusive marriage (of whom Valkia was the abuser). She would later kill her husband by stabbing him in the eye after he insulted the gods

Since it kind of exemplifies the fact that she’s not supposed to be representative of khorns blood lust and murderous rage she’s honour fairness and the closest thing he has to justice this new background is just another generic demon lord who was “better than everyone else“

To paraphrase a bit from the old lore, "Khorne does not care from which the blood flows, but demands only the skulls of the worthy." Valkia wasn't any less evil, but she did show that not all devotees of Khorne were into simple slaughter.

There's an AoS story where a blind daemon prince of khorne conquers a chunk of Neferata's territory and decides to build it into his ideal society to spite her...and he ends up basically making a weirdly ordered capitalist city, gaining power off of the competition between merchants, overseeing the courts (trial by combat of course) and it kinda leaves it ambiguous if life under khorne is really that much worse than living under vampire rule.

Last time I checked, the ones who would actual city management are usually the Slaanesh and Tzeentch followers. And Khorne is not just the God of Combat but the God of Slaughter. Khorne will like the sight of weaker tribes being massacred by stronger tribes. But he disdains acts like trickery and backstabbing.

I like Slaneshi aesthetics but Khorne is best god by far. Coolest, most straightforward, arguably the most moral. Hear me out. He likes blood and war, sure. But hes also the god of honor and justice. No games, no tricks, no behind the scenes work. The stronger, more honorable you are, the more likely you are to gain his favor. Sure, Taurox is favored for his unending rage and slaughter, but Valkia gained favor by being straightforward in her goals and actions. If I had to pledge to one god, itd be Khorne. Slaneesh is cool looking, but what they do isn't my thing. Nurgle is cool, but ew. Tzeentch, cool, but I've never enjoyed intrigue and shadowy games of lies, deceit and various michevious acts.

Well, I haven’t thought about it, Bute yeeaaa being cursed that you face becomes the shield for one of the most battle crazed people ever, for all eternity… that’s quite the punishment. On the otherhand it’s from slaanesh so it probably enjoyed it for a while. When you think about it’s much crueler to deprive all the pleasure of a daemon of well… pleasure and then replace it with infinite boredom and pain. Yea I’m not a lore scholar but I think that’s one of the worst fates in warhammer history. Correct me if I’m wrong
