In Japan, entrepreneur engineer Yoshida Ryo aims to use the "ARCHAX" robot, which is 4.5 meters high and weighs 3.5 tons, inspired by anime characters, in search and rescue and relief work in disasters and space exploration.
New generation electric vehicles, flying cars and futuristic robots stand out at the "Mobility Show" (JMS) event held at the "Big Sight" campus in the capital Tokyo.
A target of 1 million visitors has been set for JMS, which brings together nearly 500 automobile manufacturers and many R&D teams around the world. The fair can be visited until November 5.
Toyoda Akio, President of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Federation and President of Toyota Motor, said, "We want to send a message to the world about the future."
One of the futuristic robots that attracted attention at the fair was "ARCHAX". The robot, which is 4.5 meters high, weighs 3.5 tons and has 4 wheels, was inspired by the anime character named "Gundam" (Japanese comic book manga filmed for television and cinema).

We could say we get to witness the birth of many things and build an insight on the direction humans will go, but yeah, kinda wish I could be able to last or have cyborg organs to let me at least double my life

Could outfit it with a mortar or TOW system. It would make for a pretty handy mobile mortar or rocket system.

@@nikolaosgeorgitsogiannakos5881 Really late yes but my guess as to why this guy is saying that it needs more development is due to the speed at which the Archax operates. To be fair, even with how impressive it already is, the Archax is still pretty early on in its development and will be needing a lot of improvements especially to the arms and legs in order to make it functional in the environments that it's being designed for. Not to mention the power supply and efficiency that will eventually be demanded of it. As of right now I'm betting it won't take a very long time for it to start being capable of fulfilling it's role during disasters, space however is another story and there's a lot that needs to be considered in order to ensure both the safety of the pilot as well as its effectiveness to complete tasks on space stations or potentially even on other celestial bodies. I'm no professional obviously, but at the very least I have an entry level understanding regarding the design of the Archax and what it should be capable of in order to excel in its future work environments. Regardless, it's an impressive piece of tech and I'm very excited to see how far it can be developed within the next few years.

try climbing over piles of rubble, metal bars for construction, very uneven surfaces in a disaster, there may not be any flat ground, or water halfway up the robot! its a fancy hand on wheels, a Solution waiting for a Problem

It's neat to look at but I'm having a hard time imagining this being an all-around good solution to most disasters. Large, heavy, slow, and for some reason was built to be run by a human inside rather than remotely which would make the need for water, fire, radiation, etc proofing not necessary. Also makes it much larger to hold a person. That space could be cargo, implements, etc.

Still, I am going to trust that Japan, with its disaster prone area, has thought out some of those logistics.

First, no one is asking you to buy one so don't worry about it. Second, "most" disasters isn't necessary, it just needs to help in some.
@ChamberHaus

@@ducatiroche did I say that they were asking me to buy one?? Very confused by your comment. As for your assumption regarding only needing to be helpful in some, I find that to be incredibly short sighted. Put your drink down and step away from your keyboard. Bad duca, bad! lol
