I would never block a window with a shelf! The kitchen is already small and adding a shelf in front of the window blocks out some of the light.
@TheSnortler4 ай бұрын
Yeah, I agree. I think if she ended the tiled shelf on both sides of the window and then put a tinted glass shelf in the middle, it would solve the issue and keep her vision. I would go for a dark pale pink, like in the flooring, to make it seem coherent - and break up the slightly monochromatic scheme the kitchen has.

Despite appearances, a pot filler in a small kitchen is super practical if more than one person is in there at a time. It saves having to try to dance around each other every time someone needs water at the stove. I put one in my last kitchen (a galley measuring 6’ x 10’) and it completely changed the functionality of the space
@Floruisse4 ай бұрын
I love Hemas floor, wow stunning idea with lovely color and pattern choices. 🤗👏🏻👏🏻
@jpp77834 ай бұрын
Some of these ideas are a touch impractical. Removing upper cabinets in a small kitchen and “regaining” space with a tall pantry cupboard means losing counter space and still not getting back as much cabinet space as you’ve lost. And the plan with upper cabinets as deep as the lowers means you’ll never use that counter (you’ll smash your head on the uppers every time; and also, you’ll never reach deep into the back of the uppers so they’ll become a wasteland of lost sippy cups). Finally, travertine in a kitchen? I’m sure you’ll seal it and seal it well, but we’re talking about a material that has more holes than cork.
@katanyajason33164 ай бұрын
And did you notice the handles on the orange kitchen? Literal sharp blades sticking out, waiting to gouge your thighs and hips! And how many times does one use a pot filler? It would be so costly to install too (bringing the plumbing over to the cooker and digging into the walls) Also that fragile Japanese style plant that takes up a lot of counter space in a kitchen that is already on the small side has little chance of surviving.
@GlobalCitizen554 ай бұрын
Lots of cool ideas, but I was thinking the same about the travertine. Doesn’t seem the least bit practical for a kitchen. Also don’t see the point of spending money on a pot filler that you don’t need (plus it takes up space unnecessarily). I also don’t know how easy it will be to grasp and open the kitchen doors in Noz’s kitchen.
@jpp77834 ай бұрын
@@katanyajason3316 I have always thought pot fillers to be silly. I don’t want water dribbling (and there are always a few remaining dribbles after you shut it off) onto my stovetop. And when it’s over, you’ve got to carry the pot of pasta water back to the sink anyway so if you’re strong enough for that, you’re strong enough to fill it and carry it over.

Before was pretty cute. I could live there if I couldn’t redo it. I’d maybe do different wallpaper, but it was cute as is. When I first heard the designer say vegetables, I was like, what? That’s so done. BUT, I ended up loving that space! Really loving it. It was happy, fun, whimsy. I could see myself making my morning tea and cooking eggs, too! I really loved the cabbage light! So very cool! I actually have some cabbage stuff. Big bowl and plates. The one with the door to the outside was WAY amazing, as long as there is something nice outside the door. I think the veggies and door would make a great combo. The one with warm pinkish colors was fantastic! I would probably have stopped the shelf just short of the window on either side, but the rest was amazing! I guess I’m still a little too inside the box. I’m thinking window washing. BUT, fantastic color choices! The cabinets are amazing! I really LOVED them. A super retro vibe. Any of you are welcome to redo my spaces anytime! 😄 IF I had to pick just one, which is impossible to do…it’s the vegetables! I had some cool veggie stuff in the late 80’s early 90’s. I thought I was done until I saw that killer cute kitchen? I would be thrilled with all of them.

Not a fan of Kat's design. A lacanche range and a door would've taken up the entirety of that original space. I don't like when the designers manipulate the scale like that, it defeats the purpose of the exercise. Also, keep your impractical tripping hazard chair out of my tiny kitchen!
@damienclark-n1u3 ай бұрын
Yes this! I immediately noticed how out of scale her design was. The door, as displayed, would have been maybe 5-6 feet tall and wouldn't actually be useful basing it off of the scale of the rest of the kitchen and the range is WAY smaller than it is in real life. That design was interesting but completely unrealistic
