I had my own cabinet shop right out of high school and always hoped to build wood projects in the style you have mastered. I love the wood working, but I don’t have the technical skills and patients to master it. You are gifted, and have Mastered the skills and I have to tell you, it is therapeutic to watch your videos oh Great Samurai Carpenter. I have Subscribed so (as you so correctly stated ), I can get my fix. Thank you for being on KZbin … you have mad skills … and you’re entertaining.

Attitude and ego issues aside, your work *is* truly astounding. Yes it did take a minute to catch my breath after seeing that giant pergola in place. Your techniques for creating curves on such a large scale are quite masterful. Reminds me of some of the ship building stuff I've seen.

I agree. I actually didn't want to click on the video for those two exact reasons. BUT, he has skills and more importantly, the attitude of doing a job well done which shows in his work. However, I'm not buying into the "its hype for views" reason. I can think of many great woodworkers and carpenters on youtube with larger audiences who are humble and down to earth. Paul Sellers being one of my favorite.

I absolutely love your projects and you TRULY are a gifted and HIGHLY talented craftsmen. I came across and subscribed to your channel about a year and a half ago and you HONESTLY inspired me to take my craftsmanship up several notches even though I have spent over 25 years doing very high end work!! After finding your channel I also sought out many more KZbin pages of other spectacular craftsman the concentrate on most using hand tools and producing absolutely beautiful joinery and projects more while using considerably less power tools than could normally used. BUT........... While you were the source of my original inspiration and my businesses push towards doing fewer projects of higher quality that has more traditional joinery and less mechanical fasteners for which I REALLY want you to know that I am DEEPLY grateful for the path that YOU have started me down and one that has had a SIGNIFICANT impact in my life I feel personally COMPELLED to be totally honest with you!!!! Now I realize that you will most likely COMPLETELY dismiss what I have to say next because you'll be like..... SCREW YOU I am the Samurai Carpenter and I have thousands of follows and I am awesome and you are nothing but a bitter wanna be, but STILL I'm willing to bet that what I'm thinking is what countless others are thinking so that they ACTUALLY only watch your channel when it comes up in our feeds, so here it is. It's my deepest hope that maybe this will strike a chord with you and bring about some changes!!! So............ While you WERE my original inspiration I have found that I AVOID most of your videos and only watch those that DIRECTLY apply to something I'm working on or a project I'm thinking about taking on. I now AVOID MOST of your videos be a
@medicman520
@medicman520 6 жыл бұрын
CRAP I accidentally hit the send button!!!! I AVOID most of your videos because there is SO MUCH EGO and NARCISSISM with the "I'm awesome, I love my life, EVERYTHING I do is life altering!!!! THAT along with all of the goofy talk and tangents you spiral off into is EXTREMELY OFF PUTTING and sometimes kind of INSULTING and is HONESTLY how I find that most TEENAGERS speak today!!! You are so VERY talented and your workmanship is second to none!!! So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let your craftsmanship, ideas and GOD GIVEN skills and talent SPEAK FOR ITSELF!!! HONEST it REALLY DOES show in EVERYTHING you do so there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to be self grandiose and ARROGANT!!!!!! Watching your WORK is SOOOOOOOO gratifying and INSPIRATIONAL to watch AND ASPIRE TOWARDS is SO MUCH MORE than we actually need that there is NO reason for all the other juvenile SILLINESS!!!!! Because I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE AND APPRECIATE to be able to watch EVERY video over and over again along with being able to UNMUTE the audio like I DO NOW so that I don't have to hear the UNNECESSARY stuff you do!!!! You are so far above and BEYOND such NONSENSE!!!!! I think you would find that you get far more subscribers and a VAST INCREASE in viewership if you just PLAINLY spoke from the heart and explained WHAT you are doing and WHY!!!! Like I said I am DEEPLY THANKFUL for the INITIAL inspiration that you gave to me, but what I CRAVE is watching you work WITHOUT the nonsense!!!! I'm sure MANY MANY of your viewers would LOVE to hear you ACKNOWLEDGE that HEY I've become aware that a LOT of what I say is off putting a VERY egotistical and I am going to start being VERY CONSCIOUS of what I say and how I say it because I HONESTLY want you to ENJOY my videos and NOT have them be something that people have to "endure me" to get through and watch with the volume tuned OFF!!! I know for ME PERSONALLY I was so VERY EXCITED at the prospect of going to Japan to witness first hand the talents of so many masters, to possibly hang out with you one on one to pick your brain and such, not to mention adding to my ever growing Japanese tool collection!! For me not going had NOTHING to do with the cost of such a trip!!! What DID stop me is the idea that GREAT I get to meet and interact with the VERY person that set me on the same course as he was on would be UNBEARABLE if I had to spend THOUSANDS of dollars and DAYS AND DAYS to listen to your regular HEY I'm awesome look at me EGO NONSENSE!!!! And I HONESTLY was VERY DISAPPOINTED that I didn't go!!!!! But that's how bad your silliness and nonsense is for, like I said, probably a great many of your viewers!!!! BUT......... This is just MY HONEST OPINION!!!! My GREATEST HOPE is that something I have written here strikes a chord in you and brings about SIGNIFICANT CHANGE that would undoubtedly result in a monumental increase in viewership!!!! At least FOR ME I wouldn't be able to watch enough of your videos if those changes come to pass!!!! Unfortunately I have NO doubt that I'll be COMPLETELY dismissed and you might even publicly bash me!!!! If nothing else maybe others will voice THEIR feeling to things as well!!!! I KNOW you'll delete this, but I TRULY HOPE it at the very least you'll leave this up so that YOU can learn what your DEDICATED viewers are also thinking or feeling about your channel!! LOVE your work brother so keep it up!!!! The rest I can live without!!!!! GRATEFULLY An inspired but now occasional viewer and FAN!!!!
