Leaving the whole "being a spy agency" idea is not doing them good. Spy theme was what sucked me into the show. Now it's just a force of habit to follow their adventures. Ever since FBI closed down their agency I was worried what are they going to do next. Next season's were good but it's slowly becoming quite mundane show.

#3:23 - " we could run this show for 30 more years 'if that's the case' " - it is certainly not the case... the concept is that you could put the cast of Archer into any situation, and 'see what they do' - but the cast of archer would need to be used, not people who vaguely look like them but do not act like them at all... interchanging personality traits, especially when those traits have no logical connection to their 'new' characters, is un-necessary... as an exercise in deconstruction, for the sake of deconstruction, it has hit its logical rock-bottom... Taking a character like Archer, and then removing the spy element in season 8, and then the competency and plot in season 9, and his dialogue and humor out of season 10 - where can this lead? To a hare-brained idea that, in season 11, they will remove his agency as well... what's in line for season 12? Make him an infinite clone to remove all contention from the plot? ( Wait, they already did that to remove the plot tension of season 7 ) Should they interchange his personality with Cheryl? ( Wait, that was one of the things which made season 10 unwatchable )... Should they make a supporting character into a main character? ( No, that's what made agony of season 9) What about making a character into a rock? ( Did that in 10 now for some reason ) What about making toilet humor with a character who is made into a rock, both in terms of personality and plot development, after making them a main character? ( Wait, if they have no connection to anything identifiable, then how would it be funny? Maybe make them fart, and instead of it being a passing character establishment point, it can be a major plot device? ) I have an idea - let's make an entire episode with a literal personification of an 'undefined plot device #44535' - an unidentified cube which does some random things which do not connect to the plot, and waste the entire episode playing with it instead of doing something entertaining? It would really save on writing time... ( Oh no, they just did that in season 10 ) What about taking an old script, removing its plot content, setting it in space, adding random aliens because they 'look cool'... Then they would not have to bother to expose anything about them so they can participate in the plot.. Maybe to fix it from putting people to sleep, they could CG in some explosions and a bunch of slime, and have the characters crawl around in feces and play with cats, who then shoot lazers for some reason because they had written themselves into a literal dead-end 's*** hole' when they couldn't be bothered to write any more of a drawn-out, subdued, textbook bland action sequence? Wait, darn, they did that for the penultimate action scene of the penultimate episode... To top it off, add in incest and a montage which makes no sense and takes up the last action sequence of the last episode, which spent time trying to point out how many character models they could re-use, and how many times they could make the joke, " This is relevant and funny, right? " Push the reset button, and recycle some slightly better content - maybe cooking recipes or episodes of Breaker High? Add a laugh track? The best way to fix this is to co-ordinate with the overlords at KZbin and simply purge all criticism of this show... then they can pretend in willful ignorance that people still watch this... disable the comments section, disable the likes, and disable the views - fewer people are watching this season than compilations of one-liners from the first 5 seasons...
