This magnificent puzzler holds up even now, in 2019. I often play this on my psp.

Just picked this up (as a 2 in 1 game umd with its sequel, Mercury Meltdown) in a charity shop, in case with manual for £1! Absolutely awesome. The PSP was (still is) an absolutely amazing handheld, in my opinion way better than the PS Vita, which I also own, but I don't really use as much, if at all. To get the best out of this game, you have to play it on the PSP I think. Still can't believe I got Mercury & Mercury Meltdown for that price, perfect condition too! It's a shame the PSP didn't get the love that the Nintendo DS got (yes I have a DS lite). As a handheld, the PSP offered so much more, looked slicker, had better visuals and was such a gaming powerhouse of a handheld system.

I play it on the Vita, and I'm sorry it's just as good on the PSP. The analog stick is more comfortable. The little studs on the PSP just feel uncomfortable. Other than that theres virtually no difference.

Strangely,in the opening movie I heard some "squid voices" similar to those in Splatoon series.
