For a company to become B Corp Certified is very difficult. They would have to undergo something that's kind of like a test to measure their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). However, being B Corp Certified means that a company is more trustworthy when taking into account how they handle social, environmental and economical situations. It doesn't mean the company is perfect per se, but that they are on the right track and can use that to further improve. I didn't know A&O was aiming to become B Corp Certified so I'm honestly so happy that they are. (LOL some help from a Business student)

Becoming a B Corp is a pretty big deal. I think you're absolutely right, they should have this visible on their site. Thank you for this review! I just got the Neopolitan journal and I'm excited to use it this year. Although it's a bit intimidating bc using the kraft and black paper will require me to be more creative in a new way. P.S. Honestly I have to thank you, I’ve only been watching your videos for about a week (maybe two? Time means nothing) and you’ve managed to get me back on the bullet journal train. My ADHD can be pretty bad and the bullet journaling system is really the only thing that helps keep me on track, as long as I can remember to use it every day. I had no idea archer and olive had a Neapolitan notebook, it’s so cool how it has all 3 types of the paper into one book. The notebooks look so cute! I haven’t tried a b5 notebook before but I feel as if it would be good as you have lots of space to be creative. They really are super pretty!💕 If you go to the section called “stockist” on their website, they have a lot of shops in Europe that sells their notebooks! I didn’t see one in Germany, but there were lots of stockists in Belgium, Netherlands and France for example that could probably ship to Germany☺️ For example My Mellow Days ships everywhere in Europe as far as I can tell. I’ve never come across a stockist that has ALL the notebook designs though, so that’s the part that is a bit tricky😅 Thank you so much for your kind words💕

I loved this video! I really like seeing pen tests (and making them... I might have a bit of a problem with collecting pens, but i at least use them all!). I also appreciated all the info on the ethics and sustainability of the production process. It is not something enough companies consider, and I too would love it if A&O had more info on their website! Makes it easier to choose where to buy, and all that.

I started with the A5 of the Archer and Olive and I love their notebooks now. I was skeptical at first. Being that they were popular amongst the bullet journal crowd, yet no one actually would say why they love their notebooks. I do love the gsm of their paper. I'm heavy-handed so this helps a lot. I'd love to try their larger notebooks and see how journaling in that size would be. The cover being of a fabric took me some getting used to and I bought a cover for mine to keep it clean looking.

I have never tried B5 before because it seems so big compare to A5 size that I used to have. But I have lots of notes lately due to my work and I think B5 is the perfect size for student log and what not (yessh, I'm a teacher) and those A&O colors you have are pretty ❤️

i used 2 a&o journals this year and i loved them. my only issue is that the linen covers tend to get dirty, but thats probably because i carry my bujo around everywhere lol. this is such a nice and comprehensive review!

I'm so glad you did a size comparison, too! I had no idea how big the B5 was until I realised I bought a journal that size at the store. I love it for my story writing, brainstorming, and research because there is so much room to write, make notes, draw, tip-ins, etc. My first BuJo is an A5 and I will probably stick with the A5 into next year, but I wanted to say how much I get out of the B5 and that there is nothing to be scared about its size =) I do love A&O because they have set the standard of what "ideal" writing and drawing paper is for me. Dot grid, bright white, perforated pages, 160 gsm, etc. I never had an A&O notebook, so I am very curious about it. I'm a writer and artist so pens and paper make a big difference in productivity. I grabbed a uni gel pen the other day just to use it up, but it kept skipping on the upstrokes and I constantly had to stop mid-sentence, so I ended up throwing it against the wall/into the trash bin XD I'm happy to stick with what works. Switching to a 0.5mm pen made me write smaller and I'm actually enjoying it. Very happy to see the pens in action with a drawing session

I love the covers of archer and olive! They're elegant and I feel like the design on their cover often pays homage to nature. As someone who majored in sustainability in college, I'm happy to hear that the company is trying to be a certified b corporation. I often feel guilty when I have the desire to buy something and it's not transparent whether the product is sustainable or not.

Thanks you for talking about sustainability and using your connections to bring us that info. I’m sure youve heard of the dissolvable packing peanuts / the recyclable wiggly worms. If you continue your business affiliation, maybe you could see if A&O are already implementing moves towards sustainable packaging options like those. They may very well already be doing so if theyre looking for B Corp certification.
