Zefram Cochrane was smart enough to *know* he wouldn't be believed. Hell, he didn't believe it himself until he personally witnessed everything. But he sent his warning anyway because he knew it would be recorded. Hidden under the reality that he was a drunk would keep people from taking it too seriously, but his fame would keep it from being forgotten. Just a funny story about the first warp-flight pilot. And what do you know: Archer found the truth behind his warning and that's what saved them from being attacked in the 22nd Century and allowed history to go unalerted by the 24th Century. Just one funny little story saved the future and propelled the name Enterprise to be the Borg's dreaded enemy ship that would ultimately destroy them. Not bad for a drunk.

Canonically, the first encounter between the Fed and the Borg was in "Q Who" when Q flung the Ent-D to the cube. The Borg were a complete unknown to Picard, which would not have been the case if Archer left even a passing log entry about this encounter. That said I really like this episode too lol

@@dickbahls9012 How do you mean canonically, in this instance? The Fed's contact with the Borg form a time paradox. Picard encounters them, but then when they travel back in time (First Contact movie) then debris is left, which then reactivates in ENT: Regeneration and tries to get back. They send a signal to the Borg collective which has to travel so far through space that it only reaches the Borg in the 24th century, the same century as Picard's encounter, implying perhaps IT is responsible for the Borg invasions somehow

Hypothesis: Assumed destroyed upon entry to earth's atmosphere. Landing in the polar ice caps was the most unlikely scenario, but the most unfortunate. The Borg sphere was orbiting above Montana, the North American Continent. If the Borg technology had crashed anywhere in the sea, it could have been destroyed by the pressure after sinking. If it had crashed anywhere on land, it would probably be at a melting point and too warped, damaged beyond repair. However, crashing in the polar ice caps probably allowed it to survive, because of the rapid cooling that could have prevented it from burning and even melting away after it made impact. It would be possible there was more wreckage that hit the planet, but did not survive like the two drones that survived in the ice caps. From a Borg Sphere which, according to Memory Alpha, has a crew compliment of 11,000. So, it might not be luck, as much as brute forcing the statistics.

The ship would have continued on assimilating other vessels getting faster and faster, eventually reaching trans warp speeds and getting to the collective with future technology that the Borg should not have had. As a result, when the enterprise finally did encounter the Borg, they would have been far more powerful than they actually were when we first saw them in Qwho?

It also felt as if the writers/producers were like, "People like the Borg, so lets shoe-horn the Borg in!" :D ... For all the faults of this shows overuse of time travel. It's a shame they never did a time travel cross over between Enterprise and TNG crew.

This probably wouldn't go with your channel's theme with the kind of videos you upload, but would you be willing to make a comp of T'Pol being jealous. She's had quite the streak expressing jealousy over Trip and reminding him of past actions, like when he unintentionally got pregnant on that alien freighter.

So the Borg are heading back to Borgia because every species seems to have the same name as their homeworld?

Borgia? Then their leader was not the hive queen, but a piano player named Victor?

In STTOS episode The Man Trap there's a scene when Professor Crater's wife, Nancy, said the dead crewman (murdered by the illusion-projecting salt monster masquerading as Nancy) had died eating a Borgia Plant? Maybe the ruins on the world Crater was studying were from the original civilisation that became the Borg.

Wait if its been public knowledge The Borg were coming u think they would have prepared sooner maybe Picard would not have been assimilated at the Battle of Wolf 359 its odd how Captain Kirk never encountered them, however 1701-D USS Enterprise encounterd them a few times
