I was like "probably this size of the bow would be small for me" and then you say "I am 6"5', I was shocked. Thank you a lot for the video, it was chill and I finished all my homework while listening.

You're very welcome, and glad you enjoyed it. Always learning with the archery and have a long way to go but really enjoying it!

I have a modern style takedown recurve but I too love the idea of a one piece wooden bow.

That's a cool video. I like the idea of archery but have never tried it. Maybe i'll have to give it a go now!

Realy reasonable choices (Henry Bodnick is the chieftain of traditional archery in germany) His bows got a realy good reputaition. If you ever come to germany i got a small property where we shoot and camping. Greetings H-M

Great video….I’ve been thinking about having a go at archery…luckily I own woodland which would make an ideal venue

Thanks, I appreciate that. I can’t recommend it enough and if you own woodland I’d say it’s a no-brainer. Such a lovely way to spend some time wandering around the woodland 👌

Great vid, new sub. I shoot trad longbow and my bow is similar to yours and ive struggled to find a good bow quiver. What make and model is your bow quiver? Im in England too so availability and quality without a huge price tag is rare. I use Merlin archery mainly currently. Man i wish i had a wooded area i can shoot it. Jealous of ya bud. Clay Hayes' book is awesome. Short read but well worth it. Instinctive is key. Grizzly Jim helped me a lot when starting out. Watched his videos then braved the trip to Merlin in Loughbrough and actually got to meet him and shoot with him. Was a fond memory in my archery journey.

Thanks for the comment and kind words! I actually got it on etsy and it works great. I'll see if I can find the link for you. I didn't realise Clay Hayes had a book - I'll check that out. Also thanks for the Grizzly Jim recommendation. Extremely lucky to be able to use the woods it's an amazing place to just be able to walk around and shoot. Thanks for watching!

I've just moved to a property in northern California with lots of space and lots of wild turkey. It is legal to hunt them on private property where I am, so I was thinking of getting a bow. I'm a 5'4" woman with decent upper body strength for my size. No idea where to start. I'm looking at recurve bows. I could use help choosing the size and draw weight.

Wow, that sounds awesome and sounds like you have a great property! Unfortunately I'm not the person to ask as it's still very new to me. I would say the best thing to do would be to go to an archery/hunting store and get their advice. I wouldn't want to give you the wrong information. Thanks for watching!

Did you read the book "hunting with bow and arrow" from Dr.Saxon Pope?
