I love the Hinge 2. Have it in 3 finger stainless with Hunting bracket. Just ordered a holster for that as well as one for my Wise Choice today!

I just recently bought a hinge gen 1 and cant find the different hooks for sale anywhere because they're discontinued. I know this is an older video but ,if you happen to see this, do you happen to know if any other hooks can be interchanged with the gen 1 hook? The standard hook, .20 or whatever it is, is way too cold for me and I have to rotate so far from my anchor just to get it to shoot. I've tried adjusting it but definitely not enough to make it feel comfortable. Any help would be appreciated

@@alexisgon117ag hello and thank you for watching. I doubt there are other brands of changeable hooks (like the Stan MoreX line) that could swap into the Hinge 1.0. I think your best chance would be to join some online groups such as Archerytalk (which has a massive classified section you can access when you meet the requirements) or Facebook groups like Ultraview Junkies. I would be willing to bet if you post on either of those, you should be able to find a private seller who can sell you what you need.

@ajbholsters2035 That's a shame, but I guess I just have to roll with it. I'll check out those groups you mentioned since I didn't know they existed. Thank you for the help, and keep up the good work on videos, I really enjoy them.

Which would you say you like better the hinge 2.0 or the hbc flex and why ?
@ajbholsters2035 Жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you for watching. My vote between those two would be the HBC Flex. The HBC has adjustable finger sweep on the Flex Finger, so that's a leg-up on the Hinge 2.0. TRU Ball stopped including the 4-Finger attachment, so now you have to buy it separately (so they're on par with Ultraview now with charging for accessories). The neck on the HBC is shorter than the Hinge 2.0 and that makes it easier to pair up with a thumb release (the Hinge 2.0 and the UV Button are the only two that have that hook position and neck length). If you have a specific way you like to hold your hinge on the draw, then the HBC is a better choice because you can set it up however you wanted. The hinge 2.0 is designed to be drawn with even finger pressure on the draw. So if you draw with a lot of index finger and thumb (which I do) then the Hinge 2.0 is going to be more difficult to execute your shot because of all the rotation you would need to generate just to get the head to start lifting up off the neck. So the hinge 2.0 requires the archer to adapt to it, as opposed to being able to adjust it to the archer's preferences. The HBC comes in three sizes as compared to UV's two. The HBC Flex Medium and Large use the same size of Flex finger, so if you take a Large and have large fingers, it will feel correct. The medium feels roomy in the ring finger. I use the small. They are both good hinges, but the HBC works better for me. I shoot mine with a fast click, and my shot process uses the click as an indicator that the shot is about to break (rather than a starting point). So the independently adjustable click and fire or releases like the Hinge 2.0, TRU Ball Executive, and Carter NV, 2 Smooth, or Scott Ascent and Select are lost on me.

It would have been interesting to get a performance / feel comparison against the competition. At their price point the cost of additions seems very cynical.

Thank you for watching. I didn't have a ton of releases to compare them to when I made this video. Now that I have a pretty substantial collection it's easier to do a direct comparison. Long story short: ergonomics on the UV Hinges are very good. Performance-wise is going to depend on the archer. I can't use them effectively because I like to draw with a lot of thumb and index finger and have the ring finger angled forward. The UV Hinges are designed to be drawn with even finger pressure. So if I draw it the way I want, it takes ages to get them to go off, if I can get them to go off at all before I run out of movement. So if you have a preferred style of grip for a hinge, it might be necessary to modify it in order to use the UV Hinges effectively. So far, the only other Hinge that I haven't been able to get to work for me are the UV Hinges and the Evolution Outdoors Ibex. They both suffer from a design that makes the hinge feel very "cold" in terms of speed. The Stan OnneX feels too much like a thumb release for me to want to use it as well in place of a hinge that was designed to be a hinge. Agreed on having to shell out extra money for accessories. Expensive releases should come in a kit like Stan does with the OnneX and LynX. Thanks again for watching and please let me know if you have any questions. Take care, stay safe and happy hunting.

Grateful for your considered reply. Thank you! I have a Stan Element TL and while I draw like yourself and therefor appreciate the thumb hold, paradoxically it does get in the way on the rotation and release phase and feel more like a thumb release.

Excellent but the only criticism for feed back is the audio is weak! I have a hard time hearing you. Otherwise great subjects. Enjoy your humor and honesty!!!! Thanks

Thank you. I recorded most of my videos on my cellphone. I have an actual camera and microphone now, so video and audio will be much clearer. That and my birds are in a different room, so they can't try to participate in the discussion anymore 😁.

The true ball executive I do not like the fact of how short the adjustments are you don't get much out of it at all and someone that pulls pretty even on all 3 fingers ingers you don't get nothing in your out of the room by the time you hit acre you don't can't really relax that much before it fires I don't believe their adjustment is nowhere near as good as the ultra view or any of my other ones

Interesting to note that the newer Hinge 2 has a slightly shorter neck & hook location than the Hinge 1, which is worth noting. Thank you ! That unique long neck.hook location on the original was the feature that turned me off, as it required a crazy short D loop & a peep location change to achieve a familiar anchor comfort. The nice large hook that is in a safer drawing position is a good feature too. Dislike those tiny hooks on Truball releases. The now discontinued Stan "black" series were ideal in this feature.

Thank you for watching. I still can't get the Hinge 2.0 set up to cooperate with my draw style (pinky forward), but if you're willing to put in the time to commit to learn how it like to be drawn and set your bow up accordingly, then I think it's a good product and it delivers what it promises. I can't say I've had any issues with the hooks slipping off the d-loop on any of my hinges. I shoot a HBC Flex fairly regularly and while the hook is tiny, it seems to hang on until I need it to let go. The Stan MoreX is still a great hinge, and I'm still working on collecting at least one of each.

I really don't agree with people that put their hints so hothey're in so hot that they gotta point it toward the boat think about that when you come to full draw your 1st knuckles touch your chin and your other 3 fingers are way out there and you rarely rest them by the time you start to rotate look at how much movement is in your hand you know that's gotta throw off the accuracy George riles I believe has the best the best way to shoot a hinge and that is why trying to make it a little bit of a fist when you come to anchor Roll the arm load the back it will click then start for relax in the shot fires relax the hand that is let it Let it kind of stretch
