It's great that you are taking the time to document your progress back and in the process making it so informative for folks just starting out in archery.

Good to see you documenting your recovery via your channel. I trust a lot of people will benefit. The longer one has been in archery, the more likely they are to meet the people with the $1000 bow coupled with 5 cent form and practice habits. Fortunately, they are not that common.

Memories, when I bought my first bow in about 1979 the “archery shop” and I use the term loosely couldn’t even show me how to string the bow or aim. That bow was a Yamaha one piece recurve, I gave that bow away to my local club a couple of years ago.

Greatest jump in improvement I had was when I had an injured foot, stayed home for a few days. 18lb Cartel limbs, Win ATX riser. I shot at “dots” at 3’. I shot +100 arrows a day for a week. For beginners, never underestimate blank bale, 5’ distance. Make a grid pattern (checker board), shot 1 arrow at each “X”

Lol. I just posted on one other video asking if you were ok. I hadn’t seen you in videos in a while it seemed. Glad you are back shooting.

Better every day. I feel the lungs are getting better too. No strength but hope it will build.

I just ordered my first recurve bow from Stephen and used most of his recommendation although I did spend some money on a little higher end riser going with one from MyBow. I am pretty confident I will take to the recurve so it's a low risk spend IMO. After shooting compound for over 20 years and being 68 now, I am looking for not only a new challenge, but the safety afforded by a recurve over a compound. Compounds are much more prone to a misfire and it's something that has gotten more and more concerning to me along with wanting to pull a lighter weight. I am starting out with 26# limbs (shooting 53# w/Compound) and no clicker. Should be fun and looking forward to it !!

Good to see you shooting again Stephen. I still haven't gotten back to shooting in over 5 months now but it's always something. Either it's the weather, to busy or absolutely fatigued.....🏹🤠👍

I shoot a low poundage bow to practice my release , if you have bad technique it will really show up at low poundage

I remember back when I first started..I could barely pick up my club's WNS risers. Now anything less than a full set up with 29oz of weights feels too light for me 😂

Rock that $300 bow! 👍

I really love this bow. The grip is great so light. I think I have shot all the Fivics bows now, they are all very similar. But I am looking foward to been back to my normal bow.

looking great. This also answers the question why there's no elite bows in europe at the moment seeing all those boxes hahah 🤣
@ArcherySuppliesLonsdale Жыл бұрын
I think Euorope they bring it all in by sea. Where my Elite flies in. Normally I use sea for Bear and Bowtech which takes forever. I actually have the same amount of PSE and Bowtech and Bear.

Coming on nicely Steve! What was your first take down bow back in the day? Keep it going, recovery is exponential.

I had a Yamaha recurve I think it cost $60. I did not shoot it very well. I would hit my arm. Then I switched to compound. I had a Darton then a York.

It's not the best to shoot but a bargain to learn without breaking the bank.
