Hi John, I really think that your AC - Excel templates and workflows are awesome. But relying on some online translator is rubbish and not according to your high end product. The AEC terminology in all languages is too specific. There even are differences between same languages in different regions, for example, Spanish terms in construction between Spain and Latin American countries. So online translators are a NO GO. Cheers

Hi Nico. Thanks for the comment. Yes I understand that online translators can only go so far, but it's at least a fast track to get the translation process moving. What's nice about the setup with the new Excel templates, is you only have to modify/adjust the translation in 1 location, on 1 sheet, and the entire workbook updates. So you are right that the translation isn't 100%, and of course there is specific terminology that needs to be adjusted, it's a starting point. I'm slowly collecting the "corrected" translations with proper terminology for different languages and classification systems, but one step at a time!

Next stage from my point of view, is to find the correct methodology to change the CSI code to a local one maybe manually in the ArchiCAD or by using the Excel VLOOKUP function . For instance, we are using a different code (material based) that also has 3 separate digits but with a different meaning in which the cost per unit is connected to it. Guess it is the same in some other countries. I guess that the idea is to make all these manipulations outside from ArchiCAD. many Thanks

Thanks Guy for the comment! SYSTEMS is already setup for any International Classification you can throw at it. Works exactly the same way as CSI, and runs in parallel! Takes about 15 minutes to add any new Classification system...something that's already included in the product training, but definitely a video I'll do for KZbin! What classification system are you using in Israel? Is there an Archicad Classification XML for it? If you can provide an XML for import into Archicad, and an Excel listing of data fields I'd be happy to demonstrate with that as an example:) Or I can use any other one from the GRAPHISOFT BIM content page! Nice! From a native Portuguese speaker it looks very accurate. I just found funny that it translated "gross area" to something similar to "disgusting area" in Portuguese

Hey random question please help. In Archicad how do i Change the currency from the default US$. Thanks

Hi Patrick 25! So in Archicad, there isn't really any default US$ symbol. Most currency based parameters don't carry the $ symbol unless you type it in manually. If your currency can be described in the property "number" format (0.00) then you should be OK. You can always concat function in whatever currency symbol you want, but then of course you're converting a number value to a string. Hope this helps!

@@CONTRABIM on my wall schedule under classification. Cost per volume and total cost of volume is US$ that how it shows in my schedules. Tried to find a way to change under classification manager. No luck.

@@parix85 It's not in the classification manager. It's in the property manager. If you go to the "Cost of Structure (Expression)" properties you'll see the Number parameters, and also the String parameters that have the extra (USD) or ($). Notice the expression based property: CONCAT ( STR ( ( {Property:COST OF STRUCTURE (Expression)/Cost Per Volume} / 1 m3 * {Property:General Parameters/Conditional Volume} ), 2 ), " $" ) This is the CONCAT function, that will combine your "Cost per Structure (Number)" with a $ or USD. Change the $ to whatever you want in this expression, and it should report that way in your schedules. You can also move the Currency Symbol to the front by reordering the CONCAT variables. Beware! I've noticed there have been some errors in these preloaded expressions n the past. Something to double check with a manual calculation before fully trusting it!
